Saw an add in Shotgun News magazine for this stuff.  It is going for $175.00/1000.  If anyone is interested let me know and I can get the name of the place and a phone #.  If I remember correctly the place is in TN.

IMI M193 comes in cases of 1200, boxes of 30, so if it's per 1000, it may be old stuff, loose ammo, not in original IMI packaging.

On the Web site, it showed 20rd boxes and its headstamped 2003.  It also said that the cases are crimped and sealed.  The boxes are black and grey with red lettering that says Israeli Military Industries on it.

IMI commercial ammo, not Q3131A

I thought it was commercial ammo myself when I first saw it, but they had it listed in the Shotgun News Magazine as M193 so that is what I wrote.  Anyway I just thought I would give everyone a heads up if they are interested, it doesn't seem like bad stuff and not badly priced.

I edited post so that it doesn't say M193

That's the IMI retail box in 223 Remington, different packaging from the M193, and since it's 223 spec it might be a lower velocity from the M193 military ammo.

It is good ammo!

I used to shoot IMI 9mm stuff out of my UZI, never had trouble with FTE's FTF's etc, but it put some wear & tear on the UZI. I don't know if the .223 are hot loads like the 9mm were.

I might pay that for good .223 if shipping was free.

I just ordered a case from Wideners today, and 300 rounds of their tracers.  Shipping was pretty reasonable, too.  For $170 a case of 55 grain, shouldnt be bad for plinking at the range.  Total shipped (from TN to FL) came to $267 for 1300 rounds (1000 of IMI 223 and 300 tracers).

I purchased a couple of cases of IMI .223 from Wideners a couple months ago.  It is a little lighter than M193, I didn't chrono it just slightly less bang than 193.
IMHO, Great ammo though good alternative to the loose pack Lake city 193.

The ammo is 223 over all length. A chop saw and a micrometer revealed that it is 5.56 brass marked 223. The web area is thicker than commercial 223 brass. The primer is crimped and sealed. The neck is also tar sealed. It was 52 FPS slower than m193 out of my 20" bushmaster.

This stuff is way better than bulk packed floor sweep. This stuff is closet stash grade stuff.

When I ordered a few days ago, I asked the guy about:

"The primer is crimped and sealed. The neck is also tar sealed"

And he said "Yeppers, you bet".  I noticed the crimped/sealed on the website, and that was the closing deal for me to give it a whirl.  Plus, who can beat Talon Tracers for $6 a box?

Just called about an hour ago and the guy who is taking orders told me that  some sheriff's dept placed an order for 95% of their IMI 55 gr stock. My quoted price for 1000 rnds is $196 shipped.

I'd like to get some of this nonsense, but I just can't justify another ammo shipment.

I wouldn't mind trying some of that. It's 100 fps slower than M193, but it's still hotter than most .223 spec 55 gr FMJ. Plus, these rounds have well sealed primers. In that regard, it's probably better than much of the XM193.

The thing is, if they have the ability to do all of that with this round, then why don't they just build it to M193 specs? That is what the market wants.

You are not trying hard enough.  Just sit back, close your eyes...and imagine a life without ammo.  After recently being forced into the humiliation of going from one Wal-o-chinaMart to another buying Remington 55 FMJ's a few boxes at a time, I find it quite easy to justify another ammo shipment...and another...etc.
