Hoping my new Beyer .22 barrel thats 4.5" long will keep bulk and CCI mini-mag ammo subsonic.

Also....anyone use CCI Blazer much with .22 uppers and especially silencers???    Wondering if it is reliable, accurate, or will lead my baffles much. I've shot alot of CCI Standard Velocity with great results, but the Blazer is also not copper washed, and alot cheaper.....especially buying in bulk.

Thanks

Copper wash is always going to be cleaner. I use Winchester bulk 36gr. HP from Walmart.

My  Wally World only has Federal bulk (copper washed and I have plenty on hand), and Remington (which I wont use).....I have picked up Winchester Dynapoints from Dicks Sporting Goods for $25/box before and had mixed results depending on gun....but it did stay subsonic in a 16" barrel.

Wondering if my 4.5" barrel will keep Federal Bulk or any other bulk subsonic, otherwise I'll be reserved to more expensive ammo (compared to .223 its still dirt cheap though).     I've seen CCI Blazer for $165 for 5000 rounds....for that price I can clean my AAC Element more often.   If I could find some place that had Winchester Dynapoints for $200-225 for 5000 rounds I'd be hitting it up as soon as I verify it does well in this build.   Winchester Dynapoints had a tendency to fire OOB in my 16" Spike's upper that I've since sold.

I have not got my 4.5" yet but reports say that it will stay sub sonic.

I have a 5.5" and it keeps federal bulk subsonic. 4.5" is G2G.

My 5.5 keeps a good percentage of bulk subsonic.....but CCI subs are quieter and always sub.  Worth the cost IMO.

Looks good!

What silencer is that? Using a Carbine length free float tube and was hoping my AAC Element wouldn't stick out quit that far. I may swap to a midlength rail and endcap if that would be flush or just past the rail.

A 4.5" barrel will keep most brands of hi velocity ammo subsonic but not all the time as the temp and weather outside
can make a difference.
Ask me how I know

That first gun looks slick!  Is that rail carbine length?

Pick a rail that will allow at  least 1/2 to 1" of the can exposed so you can get a grip when screwing it on and off.

Yep. BTW, I am using a carbine length rail with a TAC-65 can. You definitely want the suppressor to stick out at LEAST an inch, especially because it can get a little hard to screw off sometimes.

My 5.5" has never kept High Velocity sub sonic. Must be where I live.

My 5.5" keeps Federal or Winchester bulk pack subsonic without any issues.

Barrel should be 3" past the receiver plus 5.25" of silencer for 8.25"..........so 1.25" past the YHM free float round tube I ordered, IF my math is correct!   If I switch to a rail it will most likely be a YHM with rail cap to clean it up. No plans for lights or anything, so not worrying about it right now.
