Curious what are the pro's and cons of both and which do you consider be the more economical and productive not going to run any suppressors considering 11" 7.62 x 39 pistol vs 8.5" - 300 Blackout pistol?

The answer depends mostly on whether you reload or not.  300blk is a great reloader's cartridge because of the availability of brass (convert from 223) and bullets.

Been wondering the same.  Also have been wondering why I don't see 7.63x39 rounds loaded with these 110gr and 125gr bullets that people are putting in the super sonic 300 BLK.  Also seems like they could load subsonic 220 gr rounds as well.  But I'm not a reloader so have no idea.

You might want to add the 7.63x40 from Wilson Arms.  Supersonic with 110 & 125's, uses .223 brass and reviews are good as a medium size game hunting round.  No need for a different bolt.  I comparing all three of these now for next build, not in a pistol though..

Oop's 7.62x40 is what I meant.....not 7.63x40.

Most of those other bullets are .308 and x39 uses .310 bullets.  You can use them, but may not obtain good accuracy.

.308 subs will be the same.  Not sure if you can even load them to mag length in x39 case or not?

Another thing to consider is ammo availability. If you don't reload you will want to be able to run to the store and buy ammo. See if your local store sells 300 blackout. Mine didn't but they all sell x39. That made my decision for me.

I don't normally dump on people for their posts, but this topic has been brought up so many times and it always ends in a pissing match between the 300 BLK supporters and the 6.8 SPC II fans.  Do a few searches or just go to the 300 BLK master thread.

Well reloading is out of the question I dont do it maybe i should but one thing for sure theres more 7.62 x 39 more readily available than 300 blk so is there anyother good comparison's or reasons for 1 over the other?

I see ak 7.62 x 39 pistols quite frequently and would say for you that would be your best bet .

I would factor in the cost of a simple reloading setup vs. a 7.62x39 bolt and mags (two things you dont have to buy with 300blk)

After some initial frustrations were ironed out, I enjoy reloading now

7.62x39 needs a special bolt and there are frequently problems with them breaking. It also requires a special magazine.  If you want to shoot 7.62x39 buy an AK.

Ok i have aks & i have ar 7.62 x 39 an plenty ammo i was looking for honest feedback im considering. A 300 blackout but im also wondering what are the performance difference between the two say out to 200 yds max say both have 11 inch barrels?

Because Of the better ballistic coefficient the .300 blackout will retain more energy over a longer distance. .300 blackout also tends to have less flash and less concussive force out of shorter barrels due to its powder burn efficencey. I like the .300 blackout and after 2 years of searching for an alternate caliber it's what I decided on, I'm quite happy with it, I've used a 9" pistol at 200 yards and had pretty good results considering I was not sighted in at all.

If we're talking economy then 7.62x39, hands down. Last year I bought several crates of surplus ammo for 18 cents/round, I've seen .22lr sell for that lately. And this week I was hitting some local big box stores & gun shops for ammo and although there was no .223/5.56 to be found, one shop had several crates of Brown Bear 7.62x39 for sale (no limit). And the pre-panic price for most new production steel (Wolf, Tula, etc) is 25 cents/round. Best price I've seen .300 is Remington for 60 cents/round, still cheap compared to many other calibers but not 'reloaded 9mm in bulk' cheap. The biggest weaknesses in the 7.62x39 AR are the tapered case in a straight AR magwell, ASC mags are the best solution for this, and there are AR47 style lowers that take AK mags. And the bolt face, which is thinner than a 5.56/.300 blackout. I've not had any issues with mine in close to 2k rounds but I did recently upgrade to an LMT enhanced bolt as insurance. Even if I broke a bolt every 1k rounds that's still cheap shooting. And I'm not picking up spent cases. But if you prefer .300 don't let reloading scare you, it's simple once you know what to do and starter kits with single stage presses can be had for $100.

This... To this day I have not see in person a AR chambered in 7.62x39 that ran 100% no malfunctions.  300blk uses standard AR mags, standard AR bolt everything is the same except the barrel/gas tube lengths.
Yes 7.62x39 is more widely available if you want to shoot it get an AK or SKS.
