It's no 6.8x43 that's for sure, the low velocity's they show the 6.8x43 having to make 6.8x45 look good are a joke at best.

Thanks for the link and input. In todays world the AR is not just a combat weapon and its fiound not only in the war zone but hunters and target shooters alike are all shooting with the platform. so there likely will be more calibers coming.
Based on what I hear, the guys in cammo don't march into battle with the 5.56 with a tremendous amount of confidence. the 6.8x45 may not be the cartidge the 6.8x43 or the 7.62x51(my preference) is but it is attractive for CQC compared to the 5.56. It might be the better round for short barrel guns and the carry weight is not a significant increase per round as the 7.62x51.
The 30 remington AR might be the caliber that survives if the AR 15 platfform survives as is. It would be nice if the military decided on using the platform for multi-calibers. A mid range sniper 6.5 or 6.8 and a ..30 rem. AR  for close range engagement all in the same frame. Heck the AK round is plentiful and can be taken from your adversay in most places,.... humm.... Just a ponderance.
