My 20" sports an A1 length Cav Arms C1 stock and I couldn't be happier with it.
To go shorter you could get a Sully Stuck (little more than an inch shorter than the A1) - plus the Sully comes with a spacer so you can set it up so its roughly 1/2 shorter than an A1 stock. But some people do use the telestocks on their 20's there were pics of them in a recent thread in the General AR forum (look for the thread on A1s & A2s). |

I have a LMT on a 20" SPR rifle. It will give you the adjustment you are looking but it isnt as solid as a fixed or Magpul M93A. I havent noticed it to be a problem at all though.

How is the quality of the Cavalry Arms stock? Is it as solid as an A2?

LOOK cool? Perhaps not. Functional? Absolutely.
A friend in Baghdad was complaining about the A2 length stock and his inability to properly hold the weapon to his shoulder and get good control of the weapon at the same time. We're working on sending him a Magpul 93A right now... but anyway, here's a pic of my M4gery's lower on my A4.

It's pretty good. I'd say it's as solid as the A2 - it doesn't have the 'foam' but it doesn't need it as it has a solid plastic bulkhead surrounding the receiver extension. As a bonus there is more storage room in the stock. The buttplate is the source of most complaints. Its a polymere buttplate with what they call a 'living' hinge. Easier to open than the standard A2 trapdoor - but it's not as sturdy. I replaced mine with a standard A2 buttplate from Fulton Armory and it works great. |

The other alternative is to go with the A1 stock. I have two of 'em I got from a local store as surplus for $1.50 each. Yes... a dollar and fifty cents each. They came with all the hardware, and one of 'em still had a cleaning kit in it!

They work GREAT.
   Heck I even have a collapsible on my AR10 [then with 24" bbl now with 20"]  All of our guns are now collapsible stocked...

A superior cheek weld then the A1 or A2, adjustable, comfortable rubber buttpad and longer length of pull when fully extended (if you like that). |

Only two reasons I can think of are asthetics and balance. But only the Airsofters and safe queens worry about asthetics. It's up to the shooter to deterimine if the advantages outweight the negatives. |

Just did an interesting little test. I compared a 16"w/A2 stock aganist a 20"w/collapsed M4 stock. The two are identical overall lenght !!! A 20" with the collapsed stock is the exact same overall lenght as a 16" with the A2 stock.

Got one on mine, had a vltor clubfoot A1 on for a while, the collapsible stock just makes the 20" just that much more adaptable/viable for a SHTF rifle IMO

I thought the makers of the Sully stock does not reccomend using it on anything longer than a 16 inch upper. Is this because of cycling problems ?
