I assume the military will want suppressors for their new 6.8SPC uppers.   Will us normal folk be able to get our hands on any 6.8 cans in the next year?

Troy Industries and GemTech will also make versions.

Dude.  Where do you get these kinds of silly, unsubstantiated rumors?

*cough*

Hey, kel, I use my .30 TPR-S on my 5.56 rifle also...I'd think it would be pretty good with 6.8, too, wouldn't it?

Interestingly enough I was looking into the TPR-S last night. Are you pretty happy with the combo of going from .308 to .223? Satisfied with the sound levels and all? I had not thought about using .308 cans on .223 guns until recently reading about Troy industries products and their mention of doing that.

Lastly, are you using the Bi lock version of this unit and if so I presume that means the TPR-S bilock will fit/function with the M496D bi lock or is the TPR-S one threaded 1/2x28 to fit the .223 rifle?

1) Yes, I'm happy with it.  I bought it to run on my .308 LTR primarily, but it works well enough on .223 that you don't need hearing protection.  It's bigger and heavier than the M4-96D, but I can accept that for now.

2) I'm using the Bi-Locks.  The .30 cans are set up so that they will mount on a .223 bilock but not the other way around, so I'm just using a standard bi-lock on my M4.

Thanks I appreciate the followup. So from your reply I presume in your experience then the actual .223 can is more efficient on the M4?

Yes, I have shot the M4-96D extensively, and the KAC M4QD as well.  They're quieter...but the thing is, once the muzzle blast is lower than the bullet flight noise it really doesn't matter how much quieter it is, in my opinion.  The only reason I'm going to buy a dedicated .223 unit at some point is that they're smaller.
