There are some great 13.7" barrels out there right now. Why not just swap the barrel?

Site lists as having a oal of 3.25. Not important, whatever it will take to get it to exactly 16"

You're taking away at least 1/4 of an inch off your muzzle device's length. 13.7 + 2.6 or more will bring you to a legal OAL. The .30 cal is the 3.25. Check further up in the data. The 5.56 is 2.25. But yeah, not good. |

If you are not going to SBR, what is the point in giving up the velocity in the 3" of barrel that you are cutting off? The barrel has to be 16", so it seems like you would want the shortest barrel extension possible, like an A2 FH in order to gain the most velocity you can. This comes out to approx. a 14.7" barrel which is what I did on my Colt 6721. It looks more balanced and feels more balanced too.

As pointed out already your going to have to subtract about a .5" from the 2.25" length as the flash hider threads onto the barrel. Most barrels are cut 1/8" over, you probably could cut down to 14 3/8" but most would encourage you to just down to 14.5". There is a significant expense here for cutting and pinning to just loose 1.5". The next problem is the Troy devices are hardened, I don't think Adco will pin them. The other issue I see is that the flash hider in question does not offer the best performance, If I was pinning something it would be a premium combo type like the battlecompe, new pwa, dynacomp, griffen, etc... also most of these are already drilled for pinning.
