Looking for the best way to either buy or build a complete M16A4 clone

Original Post below

I know a TON about carbines but not shit about AR full lengths.
Basically wanting one to mount a scope, bipod and flashlight. Just finished a DD 14.5, going to do the rifle now, and SBR later.

What manufacturers do I need to look at?
Btw, lost.

What is it that you presume is any different about rifles and carbines?

Are you looking to make an M16A4 clone?  Or just a long rifle?  Or a DM-R?

BCM makes 20" barrels.  No idea if they're in stock at the moment.

The standards for what's good and what's not will remain the same.

Most of the good rail producers produce a 12" version that will work for a 20" rifle.

Find the M16A4 Clone Picture and Discussion thread.

Purchase a Colt MT6700C.

Purchase either a Colt, FN, or BCM 20" A2/A4 barrel.

Swap the factory HBAR for the gov't profile barrel.

Sell the MT6700C barrel.

Purchase a KAC M5 RAS off the EE.

Add scope, bipod, and light of choice.  "Correct" for the scope is typically either the TA31F or TA31RCO-A4 depending on time period.

Another Option - BCM complete A4

Top section would be correct, but I'd go the easy route and hit up BCM

Here's one I just put together last week with a JD Machine lower and BCM 20" upper

This is my other A4 clone, a Colt MT6700 with a Colt A2 barrel assembly

Bravo is your best bet. I'm not aware of anyone else making government profile, 1/7 twist rifle barrels.

i bought a complete Bushmaster upper from PK Firearms....1/7,CL, MPI, government profile, 4150 barrel.

Coupled with my complete DS Arms lower, my A4 cost me $775 out the door.

Along with BCM: CMMG, Palmetto, Model 1 Sales, Bushmaster. And those are just the ones that I can think of off the top of my head.

I went with Palmetto.  My A4 clone is still in progress, but I build the stripped lower (CMMG lower and LPK) tonight.  Here is the rifle in its current form.  I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but the upper looks well put together.

I'd look at Bravo Co.  But don't forget about the EE.  Landman usually has some good deals on 20' colt or fn barrels.
