All these parts were purchased from Wes at MSTN.  They were all Diamond Black coated...

The first 9K rounds of the bolt carrier's life was spent in a LaRue Stealth upper...

The other 13K rounds of the carrier is being spent in a LaRue upper attached to a N4 barrel...

The current bolt in the pics is the oringinal bolt and the original cam pin with the N4 16" purchased
from Wes at MSTN.  13k rounds on the bolt.  The bolt has the BCM extractor upgrade.

Barrel is still shooting about .25 to .5 MOA more than when it was new.

All 22K rounds were shot with a Chip McCormick trigger.

Firing schedule....

If you talking about DLC (Diamond Like Coating) then I believe it. This stuff is tougher and has a smoother surface (hence wear resistance) than chrome or TiN. It's what they are using on fork tubes on race bikes and I hear NASCAR teams coat cams with it. Great stuff!

My Kahr PM9094NA has the DLC coating and it is very tough. That is amazing though for the round count, great stuff.

Bear in mind that carrier and bolt is coated in MSTN's DiamondBlack coating where as the LMT does not. The wear characteristics of the DiamondBlack finish happen to be incredible.

Color me absolutely impressed.

Great post!

I wonder if the coating "Ion Bond" would hold up as well? I keep hearing about it in shooting circuits but have not seen it first hand.

Diamond black is the trade name for the process,
Ionbond is the ONLY company that does it.

ionbond.com

they will coat your stuff for you, I had a BCM carrier, bolt and extractor done. then had another set done for another AR.

total cost $145  , there is an Ionbond in indy near me so I took my stuff in.
I think they now have a $200 minumim .

they Chromed mine and it has absolutely Zero wear, unlike the diamond black does wear. or at least in these pictures.

Not to sound disrespectful...but do you have any pics of over 20K rounds to back this up?

How did the Stealth do over the 9000 rounds? Was there any loss in accuracy through that barrel?

Screw the bolt, the amazing part here is that you were able to go nearly six months without losing your pen

Nice I keep my notebooks in an ammo can, and then throw the appropriate notebook(s) into the soft rifle case on the way to the range. It would probably make more sense for me to take your approach, and just leave them in the car-along with a box of cheapo Bic pens from Staples or something.

Shoot Wes an email at MSTN...and see if he has any coated BCGs for sale...I think that my complete coated BCG was $230 for the BCG and $60 for the coating...You may have to order a complete upper to get one of these beauties....

Denny's also has coated BCGs....
