I have a rifle that I've been carrying at work for years, has fired thousands of rounds, has been dropped, bounced around, neglected - but it still looks pretty good.  I'd be too embarassed to post a pic of it here.

With the exception of the wear on the delta ring, the rest of the scratches look a bit... gratuitous.

I think the only rifle you are going to see that fits this topic are the colt rifles that work for a living like.  I did see the only one posted here was a colt rifle.

Sorry, but the rifles I payed for with my hard-earned dollars are the ones I take care of.  Sure, they have some dings and scratches, but nothing that would qualify them as beat to shit.

I'll play.
Here's a few courtesy of Uncle Sam.

I didn't carry this one, just played with it for a bit.

Carried this one for about a month.

Here's the rifle I carried on my last deployment in '06.

And I had to include my pics of some well worn SAWs.
I heard my unit had these all replaced before their last deployment (I carried the Serial #009227 in '04).

Hope you guys enjoy!

Looks like a wet rag would clean that up... I don't think it fits in the beat-all-to-hell category. Just a covered in clay.

Look close at the wear on the edges. It has more than any I have ever seen from most arfcom posts.

The anti-tacticool. When scuffed, add spray paint. Not quite all beat to hell. But I do what I can.

It looks good, but it probably has 20 coats of paint on it and over 15,000 rounds through it.

My 5.56 still looks great, I cant afford to shoot it.

My 9mm doesnt look so great, but its not exactly beat to hell.  My digital camera sucks anyway so a good looking rifle can be ugly and vise-versa.

Wow.. I can't believe how few USED AR's are out there.. if folks are afraid to use them what good are they?.. But I'm one of those sick individuals that thinks a USED gun looks better than a new one.  I'm building a couple myself that I intend to test throughly.. I hope they stand up to the task.
Thank you to the servicemen that posted pics, good to see the AR platform IS one that can stand some use!
Thank you for your service.
