My new DPMS Panther 16" light-profile barrel. Got it last week, this is a very basic beginners AR15 but I am very pleased with it! The only problem is - I haven't fired it yet!
The Hogue grip and UAG rubber stock pad arrived yesterday...both compliment the rifle very nicely and are a fantastic bargain for the added comfort that each item adds. The only "mods" I have planned are some sort of sturdy carry handle scope mount (possibly LaRue?) and a small-ish 4x scope. I have yet to research scopes...I have never owned any sort of optic beyond generic binoculars. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b210/bbugaski/Arsenal/DPMS3.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b210/bbugaski/Arsenal/DPMSHogue.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b210/bbugaski/Arsenal/DPMSStock.jpg |

Very nice rifle, Finslayer! I love that look of the M4 profile barrel with an A1 upper. I'll put one together sooner or later.

I'm thinking a compact acog (ta44 or ta26) would make this an all around kick ass primary rifle. just need to pass Finslayer's reliability testing..... which will get done this weekend |

Question pleez - and this might have been addressed already so I apologize if it has: Do you have the M4 feed ramps milled into the A1 receivers with the M4 barrels? I figure no M4 ramps on receiver is OK with M4 ramps on the barrel but M4 ramps on the receiver with none on the barrel extension might cause feeding issues. Just thinking it thru so please feel free to correct me.
I am planning an A1/C7 receiver and M4 barrel build ( I like the looks) or maybe just a lightweight profile 14.5" barrel with a pinned FH. Very nice carbines in this thread! |

I need a 14.5", M4 profile, with a standard front sight base to work with an A1/C7 upper. I'd prefer 1/7, chrome lined. Any ideas where to find one. Bushmaster used to sell them, but I can't get them to answer me.

The only reason not to use an "F" marked for a carbine is for a clone, in which case, the only appropriate barrel is a Colt 1988-1995 700-series carbine barrel. ~Augee |

Are you looking for in stock?
BCM has their stripped barrels in stock, but their DD with the FSB are out of stock. Have you checked the "usual suspects?" ETA: looks like PK has DD M4 barrels: http://www.pkfirearms.com/Daniel_Defense_Barrels/121/c ~Augee |

heres some new pics, and shes finally done :) I do have a sling just not pictured, weighs 6lbs 8oz unloaded as pictured but without mag. Ive tried so many configurations and so far this is my best form of kiss for me. Nothing beats permanent backup irons, nothing to go loose. Shes a mix of old and new. cheek weld is fine also, its worth the minor trade off.

nope, its alumihyde(sp?) tan, its pretty close to fde, it sticks a little better than krylon, or as well as anything can stick to Teflon mega lowers. I may do something with the stock and hand guard at some point..
