I'd much rather have a low flash signature and not deafen my team-mates then improve my follow-up shot by time by 0.05 seconds. Place the first shot properly and you'll minimize the need for a follow-up.

That's an interesting perspective. Thanks or your feedback Forest.
I hadn't thought that the increases noise would matter much with all the sounds of war exploding and reporting around you (M1A1 main gun, TOW, M249, M60, motars) <shoulder shrug>. I've seen several shows on TV of real life street fighting with the US Army and insurgents in Iraq. Lots of times, it's 30~80 yard engagements with several Haji's, and the return fire from our soldiers was not a series of single, well-aimed shots. It looked and sounded more like 2~3 shots, then assessment of the target. Dead? Alive? If no, keep shooting. Maybe this is atypical of street fights and MOUT with the Army, but I have to say after watching these programs, if I was a grunt (and I make no claim to know what they want or need in combat) "I" would want anything that increases my accuracy and speed to re-engage a target (or multiple targets) with my weapon. The BC comp I have on my 20" A3 is so effective, my TA31 scope reticle hardly moves at 50 yard targets. I can make secondary shots almost like a pistol double-tap.
YMMV
