Well I got my first AR tonight. It is a RRA Entry Tactical. I did get the chrome lined barrel option and added a Magpul extended trigger guard. Other than that it's a stock RRA Entry. I did add an EOTech 512. I dont really have a use at the moment for the tactical carry handle but might opt to use it later if I put a scope or something on it. Who knows. It is fresh out of the box.

My decision to go with the RRA is a direct result of information and discussions I first found on this site. I did more research and kept coming back to this rifle. I have also asked some questions and I am really greatful of the help I have recieved. So thanks for the help and I am sure I will have more posts coming and will be joining the team soon!

That's the exact same model I want.  The flash hider looks different than the one on the website though?  Is it possible to swap it for another?  I want to try the RRA Eotech Dominator mount in place of the tactical mount, though.  To me having irons in addition to optics is non negotiable.

Thank God you didn't ask, "Did I do good?  Get good price?  Do I qualify for the RRA club?  Will Colt guys still like me?  Is this the closest thing to a M4 or Heat(read movie) AR?  How do I dremmel feed ramps?"

You are off to a good start.  Slap in a 9mm buffer and enjoy.

I dunno about swapping the flash hider.  I dont see it listed as an option to change on RRA's website. I might have gone with Dominator mount but this is what my dealer had and I was fine with it. I agree with having irons. My next purchase is a rear sight after I get my case. here are so mantythings I wanted to do so it would be perfect...but I am going to shoot it first with the iron sights and get used to that. Then play with the EOTech. I could just not afford to do everything at once and figured I need to see what  really need. I almost was going to forgo getting an EOTech right away but figured what the hell...glad I got it now. But I need a case, sling, and rear iron sight (if the tac handle is off) first. I am pretty happy with the way it is.

Haahaa...yea I have seen those posts. I think newbies (and I can say this since I am an AR noob) want to feel reassured they did good and respect other people opinions on here. I know I do too!

I didnt ask because I got what I wanted for a starting AR. I didnt settle...at least for me. I didnt  just run out and buy the first thing I saw...it was a little tempting but knew I would regret it if I did that. I found a RRA Entry locally but for over $130.00 more than the dealer I got it from. The one I found locally didnt even have the chrome lined barrel. So I had to wait 2 days to save some money. I was fine with that. Paid for half of my EOTech almost!

As far as price I am very satisfied. I shopped around and compared features and prices. I did find my gun a little cheaper in some places but I would have to mess with shipping and all that. It would have ended up costing $100+ after I did the math! The dealer I got it from is located 3 hours away but I was able to get it here in my area when he came up for the gun show and I didnt have to pay shipping on anything! So yea, I am happy!

You have crossed over to the dark side. Enjoy your "first" AR. It won't be your last. Don't leave them alone in the safe at night, they tend to multiply.
