There it is...  My .458 SOCOM from MartyW at Teppo Jutsu.  Standard group buy plus the DD 12.0, Badger low-profile gas block, and the SEI .458 Vortex.  I like it!  Great shooter!  About the only thing I would possibly change would be the DPMS Lo-Pro upper - it overhangs on the lower but it works great.

Spooky

Don't mean to hijack thread, but I'm surprised to see a couple of pretty big scopes on some of these guns.  I've always assumed that this gun is really designed under 200 yards.  I've got an Aimpoint on mine and its the one rifle that I shoot primarily at 25-75 yards.  I think my zero is at 50.  I'd just assumed that given the size and weight of the bullets (300-600 grain) that once you get beyond 200 yards your speed and trajectory are going to drop pretty quickly.  Would be curious what others experiences are at longer ranges.

Don't know about the LaRue but the DPMS will fit under a DPMS FF tube.

To fit under the LaRue, we would reduce your barrel diameter and go with the 0.75.  The GB fits under the PRI Gen III at 0.93, the Badger fits under the DD at 0.93.  The LaRue I would have to see again to see if the Badger fits under it at 0.93 ...

All the ones I listed were for 0.93 ....

Here is one more, this one is going to the EE (slightly used T&E upper)
(oh, and I posted a different pic for the SPR version)

Same Tromix lower as the SPR picture
Upper - DPMS A3
PacNor CrMo standard match parkerized with M-4 type profile, 16" long
Tromix A1 FH
A2 FSB
FFHG

Scope T168 - yes it is still working, not too many 458 rounds on it

I don't know of any 0.940" blocks that will fit under a LaRue or Knights forend.
The Knights I put together this weekend measured 1.45" minor ID.
Any gas block that fits in there has to be narrow at the top, like a PRI, badger or LaRue.
Picured here is a gb 750 block that JUST fits up unside the rail.

From what I remember, the LaRue forends are even smaller in the minor ID.
I did not measure the last one I assembled, but I will the next time...

Ah, I found the picture I took when I TRIED to put a GB 940 block under a LaRue...

Marty- Do you have a LaRue on hand to measure the minor ID?
