That setup would work better where someone could not get some leverage on it. I can just see the weapon working against the wall mount as a lever. A little up and down movements and you will probably strip out the screw holes.

Very good idea! Got them in some of our vehicles but the thought of puttting one up on a wall. How cool!! Is yours electronicaly activated or mechanical (KEY)?
where is your bolt?
is the bolt locked back for quick mag insert and chambering |
This puppy isn't comin' off trust me...
I did some modifications to the lock and basically wrapped bolts around as well as through the wall stud. I can detail the installation if you like but, you would have to cut through the wall stud or the lock itself to get it off. As for opening it you need a key, there is no electrical stuff connected. ... and as for the bolt... I was so happy and excited once I got it installed that I didn't even think to close the dust cover or close the bolt before taking the pics. In fact if you look close, I even forgot to remove the masking tape from the wall that I used to mark my holes with. |

I can see it now, you come home and all that is left is the upper with no optics. "They even stole the flash suppressor!"
Yeah, that wouldn't be hard to do at all...of course that means that the criminal has to know something about ARs. Your Aimpoint would still be gone though. I think you should put another on of those lock things that goes around the buffertube...nothing you can really do to guard the Aimpoint except take it off. |

WHy not try using One of these

Someone photoshop it! |

So you are saying if a grown ass man grabs ahold to this rifle and uses his weight and strength............nothing? I do like it for a, "Im around the house and there it is" holder, but I dont think its trustable for me to leave out the door to even go to the grocery store. Good luck! |

sweet job. looks cool. too bad i have roommates, and people constantly coming and going.
So basically, all they have to do is get through a 2x4. It does look cool, but I have serious doubts that it would slow somebody down more than 5 minutes. Anchored in concrete would be different. |

He even stole the shadow off the wall! |
But they left all that good stuff on top of the safe. |
