Looks more like an HK G36K but the contrast of the rifle in the receiver area just goes to hell, can't make out where the hell the charging handle is.

+1 on it being a G36 variant.

It looks like a G36k, not a Sig.

It IS a G-36 and that photo (or ones very similar to it showing Captial Security) have been shown on this site since 9/11 - all were carrying G36s

The stock, dual magazines, ambi selector and the flash hider are the giveaways.

Yep, a nice lil G36, if only I could buy one.

Looks more like a wide screen TV, or atleast that's what the one I held felt like.    Was the full length rifle with that god awful dual optic, christ almighty can you say "OBSTRUCTED FIELD OF VIEW"?   Bulky clunky pile of HK that it was with typical HK ergonomics.

Anyhow, atleast the G36K pictured has a better optic installed on it.

Very Cool. Me like. Stupid friggin import ban. HK would have given us the G36, instead we got the SL8

Geez, that stock looks so long. I dont think I could shoulder that weapon and shoot it properly.

I think he ment AR as in: Assault Rifle.

Actually I think it is a G36C, I think the K does not have the bipod, has a shorter handguard and butstock.

Pic is a dupe. Someone has a thread stating it's a G36 now in use with D.C. Police. I think it's in the GD Forums.

Other way around, the G36C is the most compact model, the 36K being the medium length one.

The pictured weapon is the G36K

Charging handle is on top of the receiver in front of the Aimpoint. His is sticking out to right of the weapon.

I play Counter Strike to much...only reason I thought it was a sig was because of the mags...don't hate me for being dumb

People shouldn't use video games as a real reference to weapons and their titles...
.

I hate it when the guys I live around try and tell me what a weapon is..."because I know man, it's on this game I was playing..."

I'm just joshing though.

It's a trick of the camera angle; the stock isn't really terribly long, it just looks that way.

What about this type of AR?   Guys with pistols (.45's) were given these in my troop during the first gulf war.
