Well here it is. The Bear was shot at 40 yards 2 times in the shoulder ran about 25 yards and was grave yard dead. I'm estimating the bear weighed about 250+ lbs.  I saw 5 bears today I waited
until I had a good shot it is very brushy in good ol Idaho where I hunted today. The bullet did very nice work of the lungs.

A 6oz brass hammer and a railroad spike would be a better comparison.

BTW, is the bear dead? Cause I can't tell for sure. Maybe he's just pretending.

Damn!!! You're a hell of a guy, SHIVAN!  Taking that poor, deer for a ride in your pick up truck!

They usually only get to see the grill, and maybe part of the fender...

Link Posted: 9/22/2004 9:55:13 PM EDT
[#38]
yes you could have a Beta C mag if you wanted too, and for the record any centerfire cartridge is legal to hunt with ind Idaho

No one...

It just can't kill one fast enough to prevent you from becoming a bear-snack...

Note that the target ran 25yds before dying....

There is a big difference between using an AR when hunting a bear, and using an AR when the bear is hunting YOU....

So what caliber did you use for this monster?

Nice kill, but in my opinion you need to pick the right tool for the job next time.  You shouldn't need to prove you can kill a bear with a 5.56 carbine, common sense should be enough of an indicator.

I'm sure I could get that spike in the ground too....

I was trying to help you by giving you a decent metaphore.

Banging a railroad spike with a phonebook would be a good metaphore for trying to hunt deer with a Nerf football.

Hammer- What one would use to pound somthing.
= Hammer
= also, Hammer
= NOT, Hammer

Gun/Rifle- What one would use to hunt/kill game with.

= Gun/Rifle(courtesy of Mongo001)

See where I was going?

I've got the pic to prove it.

Just waiting on permission from the man who almost became a bear snack.
(the pic I'm looking at right now is perfect for this thread, maybe tomarrow he'll let me post it.)

screw bears, I want to know how well it works on Sasquatch!

I viedeo taped a friend of mine shooting a Sasquatch with an SKS firing Wolf SP.  He put all 10 rds in the animal & it still ran about 1/4 mile before dying.  From the teeth, I'd say it was about 2 yrs old.   The Feds took the video & said if we ever talked they would come get us. Yea, right!

Someone's at the door. I'll be right back....
