You guys go ahead and laugh. My mini will out perform your AR15 anytime anywhere. I've been shooting for 2 years now and I've never seen anything as nice as this mini-14. It even beats the AK platform. It's a real shooter!

I had a Mini-14 which could shoot a 6 inch group at 100 yards, but no smaller. It is no better than the AK clones out there. The ARs I had shot between 1.5 to 2 inches at 100 yards. The Mini-14 was sold a long time ago, and I never looked back. Actually, I have sold the various ARs too, but that's another story.

ive got a mini 14 too. with a scope and only firing 1 shot every 15 sec it stays "reasonably" accurate. now my RRA m4gery on the other hand with iron sights...... that is a shooter

So what you guys are saying is I got screwed? Hmm, I traded my original Colt, Series 70 Mk IV and my AR15 for the mini-14 and $200. The guy told me I was getting a good deal. Oh well, I'll still use it when the SHTF. I've got at least 200 rounds of ammo.

Who's laughing? Well, once I found the bad magazine in my stash, I've had ZERO jams, misfeeds, or failure to function properly with my Bushmaster, and as for accuracy, I get half inch groups at 100 yards from the sandbags with my pet handload. This is ROUTINE. Some groups are even tighter, down to 3/8ths, and my limiting factor is the fact that my scope's crosshair intersection is BIGGER than the groups themselves! You are a troll. A mini 14 is not half the rifle any decent AR is. I would literally not trade 2 for one, or even 3 mini 14's for my Bushmaster. I'd be getting screwed in that deal. CJ |

Yo Cotton Joe listen up man. I have a Mini-14 and I will be the first to admit that Bill Ruger could have made a better rifle. There is no way it even comes close to an AR-15 in terms of accuracy. Now I'm not saying that I hate it, but what you are doing is comparing apples to oranges. And if you did indeed get it for $700 then you got majorly screwed. And I mean MAJORLY. Hell, I am only 18 and I know which is better, and I've only learned about both in the past year. That "trade" is something you should learn from and never repeat if you are of sound mind.

I've got a Mini-14 Preban made in late 1983, Blue, in a Choate offhand stock with 3 20rnd and 7 30rnd steel non-ruger mags, I would be happy to sell you for $700.00....Just in case your new Mini needs some company in the closet.

As previously stated, the Ruger is not that bad, just don't compare it to an AR. The mags are expensive, I have yet to see a factory stock Ruger that would shoot under 2" at 100 yards, the Ruger just is what it is. And it's not an AR. And this guy is just jerking everyones chain.
