Yes, today was a GREAT day of shooting! I was pretty pleased to get 6 of 8 on steel at 1100. The two misses were just low right and threw dirt on the target if I remember correctly. After the 6 shots on the steel, we repainted and let loose with our bolt guns and with a full 20 round mag out of the OBR at 1100 again and I think I got 14 or 15 hits with the OBR at 1100 out of the 20 round mag with a pesky variable wind. The result of the full mag and all the bolt gun shooting is the pic 308Sako posted with the 50 something hits at 1100. Whoda thunk a 16" gas gun could reach out to 1100 this well? At 1000, it's still supersonic by around 80fps, but it's definitely not at 1100, so I'm a little surprised it did so well..
Yes the scope looks enormoous with the sunshade on it. Really though the size is not bad without the sunshade. I will say though that after switching back and forth between the Nightforce on my OBR and my USO SN-3 on my bolt gun, the picture thorough the USO does not look like a $2k scope should look. The $1400 Nightforce puts it to shame.
Next Friday we're going to put steel targets at 1200 and 1300 (wind permitting) and I'll see if we can get the OBR to hit on thos ones as well. We got hits on a rock at 1300 with the bolt guns today, so we're anxious to put steel out there next week.
Thanks for posting up the pics 308Sako! Here's one more for good measure.
