I posted this in GD but know some of you don't/won't venture there.  Sorry mod's for the double post but I wanted to share this with the SF guys.

AMMO AD = Buy one, get one 50% off (25% off total purchases for the non-math whizzes)

Just got back with 300 rounds of Remington UMC 55gr FMJ .223.  They were marked $19.99 per 50 rounds.  I was out the door for a little under $98 w/tax.  I don't think you can find much of reloadable stuff for that price.

Works out to be 30 cents per round before taxes, or $300 for 1000 rounds.

EXPIRES OCTOBER 13TH.

----------------

$10 off $25

May or may not work on ammo.  If you want to try, make sure you stand in the line with the high school girl running the register

They have a 200 round bulk pack of .223 for $70.

For the math-challenged, that's $105 for 400 rounds, $262.50 per 1,000.

Is that a good price these days?

I'd jump on that, especially if you can reload or sell the brass.  My store didn't have that, but I'll have to call around.

is that before or after the coupon?

Look closely at that coaches discount coupon. It specifically excludes firearms and ammunition.

I'll print out the coupon and stop by after work tomorrow, just to see if I can get away with it .

As for pricing, I picked up a "value pack" at the Super WalMart about two weeks ago - ~ $63/200 rounds of Federal HP. So.... Seems good enough for modern prices, I guess. I'm only seeing Wolf at AIM and that works out to about $220/K plus shipping. Ammoman.com isn't listing any 55gr at all - except Wolf, for about the same amount.

Wal-Mart??  Really?  Whats the box look like?  I gotta check this out!

Just got back from the local Dick's Sporting good.  Got the last 6 boxes of 50 rd value pack.  Long story short, the cashier misread the coupon and gave me 50% off my entire bill.  300 rds of ammo for $56.!!

I used the Coaches discount today. They did not even check. Bought two boxes of 30-30 for just over the price of one.

I have been using the other coupon every night for the last 3 days. Had family members cut out their coupons for me.

Got 3000 rounds of .22 LR for $61.

Got 300 rounds of .223 for $95 with tax.  Sucks, but not a bad price these days.  Going back Saturday for some .22.  Might try the Coach's coupon.

I got 6 boxes of Remington 12ga buck w/the %50 coupon.

Plus there is a $3 Remington rebate on 3 boxes of buck or slugs, so there is another $6.

I'm going back tomorrow for .223

Look, I'm a sleep-deprived father of an insomniac toddler. Don't screw with me - there's just no damned sport in it . It's sort of grey and... sort of bluish... with a damned prairie dog in white on the lower corner.

Damned emoticons. Now I'm all, "Was he serious or...?"....

I stopped at Dick's today to get a hunting license and stamps for pheasant season, which starts Saturday.  They had lots of 200-packs of UMC .223, and I kinda sorta think it was $49/pack, sorry, I'm not sure.  It wasn't more than that.  They also had two, literally two, boxes of Federal 12 ga. ammo on the shelves.  It was like 8 shot.  Pissed me off, though in fairness they had lots of Rem and Win shotgun shells including some big value packs.  I like Federal, so I got the license and went elsewhere for the shells.

I would have grabbed every box they had!

That's $187.50 per 1,000!

I went to our Dick's yesterday and got 2 boxes of the 200 packs. $69.99 list, so $105 with coupon.

Is the 200-round pack just a brown cardboard box with 4 of the 50-round packs in it?  I think I saw those on the shelf but they didn't look like they were marked for sale.

Also got some 380 UMC (my old ppk likes it!) 2 50 rnd boxes 12.99 for the 1st and 6.49 for the 2nd= $20 for 100 rnds.

Yeah, I probably screwed up.  I didn't have a coupon and I really wasn't looking for .223.  Which are pretty weak excuses.  I'll stop back tomorrow with a coupon.

Just got back.  Walked out with 2 - 200 round boxes of UMC and 2 - 130 round boxes of Ultramax.  660 rounds for $185.  Seems pretty good to me!

Already loaded into stripper clips and stored away for the next blastfest.

BTW - the UMC uses Remmington cases and the Ultramax was LC cases, different years.

Today at Dick's:

2-Remington Thunderbolt 22lr (500 rounds each)
2-Remington XPRS .410 3" #6 (25 shells each)

Normally $51.96
Less ammo coupon
Less $10 off $25 coupon
Total $31.18
Saved $23.00

Nice score.

I called around and they're all out of the .223 200 round packs of Remington, but I spoke with a manager at the store closest to me and he said he'd charge the same price for 4 separate 50round "value packs" of remington for the same price as the bulk 200 pack.  That'll save me $10 there, and I'll use the 1/2 off to purchase some more.
