What's with the fixation on 1968, anyone know?
My old college had all current students write on how this year changed our lives and requested letters from the alumni on the same subject. I was surprised when they published my letter first in the magazine. I wrote about infantry combat in 1968 and how necessary it was to have a strong military to defend the country. Everyone else wrote about "feelings" and "getting along." Never a good idea to piss off your professor. Lots of time after graduation, or when not taking their classes to do so. Unless you're a minority and can cry "EEO complaint." Colleges roll over like puppies when they hear these words. -- Chuck |

Ok, so maybe "piss off" isn't the right thing to say. How about "inform"? Also I go to a fairly conservative Christian school, so I should be on fairly good ground with the administration as long as I don't get too heavily into the Nazi connections.

When is your paper due? I don't have time this week, but if you can wait until late next week (and shoot me an email to remind me on Wednesday or Thursday) I'll try to dig up a copy of the legislative history while I'm at the law library. |

1968 = Robert Kennedy and Martin L King assassinated. Black panthers,weatherman underground,Yippie's,Hippie's rioting in the streets.
Watching my mother cry every night as punkass Dan Rather reported the number of Americans killed in Viet Nam that day. I was ten years old in '68...I don't look back as that being the good old days. mmk |
