Ok, this is just for fun but IF the Machine Gun registry was reopened for transferable guns again and you could register whatever you want; obviously after the standard couple of M16's and select fire AK's you get what would you have custom built just for fun or to have something different?
I think i'd have a Saiga 12 with a pistol grip and side folding stock converted to select fire. I remember watching a video online a long time ago and some FFL had converted a Saiga 12 to look like an AMD-65 and it was fucking awesome. One can dream............ |

Hell, with the price of ammo these days, I think it'd have to be in .22 LR...

Full auto AR15/M16 and a 1919 30-06 Browning MG And a full auto 10/22 .
A few HK trigger packs, maybe one or two of the little MP5 clones in .22lr given a giggle switch, switch operated .22 gatling gun with 3 ft tall gavity feeder... Make an M&P9 FA, same with a HiPoint 9mm carbine.

sbr select fire 10/22 with side folder and integral silencer.
One of the full auto 10/22s, a M2HB and, a M1928a1.
Would love a FA AK74 but I don't even think there are any pre-86 74's in the NFA. |
First a FA Ruger 10/22.
Then an M4 Then a Saiga 12, full auto SBS. |
Vz.61 Skorpion, parts kit.
AK-103, built from a parts kit and Bulgarian parts. MAC-10. Sa.26, parts kit. MG-3, built from the East European MG-42 clones parts kit with a .308 barrel. RPD, parts kit. M-4A1. Spectre M4, built from a pistol. The top-folding stocks and vertical foregrips are still available if you know where to look. |

this reminds me of the 5,000 threads on this subject for the brief time the Stewart decision was alive

LWRC 10.5" ....
Oh, I just built one with my RDIAS.... If you stick to AR's/M16 style weapons and buy a sear...the registry IS still open! Why do you think sears (RDIAS) are selling for $14000.00? |
22lr. version of a GE minigun.
I want to be able to actually be able to afford to shoot 5k-10k rounds in an afternoon. |
One Zastava M85 5.56mm
One Zastava M92 7.62mm One Russian AKS74U 5.45mm |
I'd need a 7.62 beltfed for the zombocalypse and then something in .22LR so I could enjoy burning through ammo.
That's "Deuce", not "duce".
Me, well, I'd like a downsized M134D shooting 5.56. It'd be just dandy for home defense, and varmint control, too! CJ |
At this time, I would like a HK MP7. A .22 minigun would be extremely awesome! I am surprised
that a manufacturer hasn't created a manual crank .22 gattling gun in the same form factor as the predator gun! |
I would get any military gun I can afford. But, I would probably just limit it to my AK and buy a full auto AR. And I would only shoot full auto with .22LR. Everything else just costs too much.
M2. Then I'd get a ring mount so I could put it on my deuce and a half.
Select fire trigger group for the 10/22
Some sort of .22 LR belt fed MG42 (or its .308 equivalent) PKM |
I'd probably get either a M60A4 or a PKM and an 8" Saiga 12 ga. select fire.
German Machineengewehr 08 (Maxim).
or a French Chauchat (CSRG) The CSRG is a POS but for some reason I think they are cool. |

Quoted: Hell, with the price of ammo these days, I think it'd have to be in .22 LR... Yep. I have a few 10/22 rifles. I'd be happy to get a "post hughes amendment repeal" priced select fire trigger pack for it. At over $10,000 it's not worth it right now. But I hear you can get into a transferable m11/9 with a .22 conversion for considerably less than a Norrel's trigger pack. ETA Screw that, I'd build and register a bunch of paintball gun grip frames that use a solenoid to trip the sear. You can buy fire control circuit boards that allow you to adjust ROF, anywhere from 2 to 20 round bursts in one round increments, tune your ROF from one round per second all the way up to the maximum cyclic rate of the gun you bolt it to. Would it be practical for defensive use? Hell no. Would it be the funnest .22lr you ever shot? Hell yes! |
