Freedom in Chains by James Bovard.

This is one of the best books, if not THE BEST book, I have ever read on the subject of Govt. abuse of power.  James Bovard is a legitmate editorialist and not one of the wackos I occasionally read.  If you are looking for a book to read that will show succinctly the vast abuse of Federal and State power by the Govt., this is it.  As I read the book, I am torn between tears of rage and saddness at what we have allowed to happen.  In short, we are slaves.  It hardly mentions guns at all, but it cuts to what is even more important, the destruction of liberty and freedom on a scale that even I didn't realize.  Buy it - Read it!
