I did this a year or two back, but have made many changes since then. This is the stuff I put on every day.
My every day carry gear I may put up a YouTube about it all in the next day or so. I post it not looking for opinions, but in the idea that someone else may see something they like, and be glad I turned them on to it. Either way, I know I will catch some heat, so flame suit on. (the title is less because I care about the cost as it is purposely provocative) ETA: NOW WITH VIDEO! It is the embedded video at the top of the home page (youtube was super slow today, so I just published myself.) Click the play button to start video (switches to full screen by default). I have an oiled duster, but I don't like the residue it leaves on my hands |
Use a different product that soaks in better, or maybe just use less of what you have.
It's just how it came in the bag, I haven't done anything with it yet |
Neat, but most of the cost was tooken up by the price of the Glock upgrades.
You do carry a lot of stuff though. I haven't figured out a setup for a back up yet that I find comfortable. |
LC, nice kit, if someone knocks you over though you'll never be able to get back up!
That'll wear off soon enough if you use it. |
Oh I was under the impression it was supposed to be that way. Hmm I'll have to give it a try |
Well, the more like that it is, the more water resistant it is, but it will do fine at repelling water w/o leaving residue. |

You carry entirely too much crap....and yeah I mean crap. Why people insist on carry so much useless stuff is beyond me. I mean seriously you can't wait to get home and clip your nails?
Either way whatever floats your boat I guess. |
I stopped carrying one when I got my tactical pants. Seriously, though, it is not that much. Wait til I put up a video. |
They are in my truck, but I do not clip them on every day, so I took them off the list.
Besides, I did not feel like fighting that battle tonight. Good memory, though! |
Check out Riggs Workwear for the pants. Made by Wrangler, and a tad cheaper than the 5.11
And give wool socks a try. I have a couple pair of the 5.11, and I think they are OK. Nothing to write home about, though. Once I tried wool socks, I stopped buying cotton socks. Keep your eye on REI's Outlet for good deals on wool socks. Here The Wrightsocks are badass, too. Double layered hiking socks. Wool exterior, Coolmax interior. Columbia makes some that are Merino wool and Coolmax blend. Very comfy. |
The only people who wear dusters around here are angst ridden and gender confused 17-19 year olds, they always seem to be going to, or coming from, the comic book store. I'm sure it's different in Louisiana.
You're a brave man for posting this again. You really wear 5.11 tac pants around every day? You can't carry a wallet in those damn things, it ends up down around your knees. Not sure about the tape measure eithr edit Seriously, I'm surprised that you seem to be such a gear whore but are carrying around crkt knives. Not that they are terrible knives or anything, but they are a big more generic than I would have thought |
Still have the rape whistle and the gay hat I see.
On a more serious note. I'm not really a backup gun guy, but if you're going to carry two guns, why two that are basicly the same size (subcompact) yet different brands and caliber? Why not just carry two G30s? Then you can ditch at least one spare mag, and simplify things a lot. |
Nice LC,
What watch do you wear? Lunch Box? Truck? Favorite long gun? Would you be interested in being the basis of a fictional action-adventure charactor? |
Damn. I thoughtI had a lot carrying a phone, wallet, two pencils and a pen.
Thats a nice review. Not sure what you do for a living but if it takes you to remote areas I guess I could see some of that stuff.
+1 on the two G30s comment. |
ROFL. LC means well, I suppose. |

I understand just about everything but the Fatmax. You measure stuff enough to make you carry one every day? I have the exact measuring tape. It is not exactly light.
You forgot your virginity on that itemized list...
Weightless! ETA: Tie Dye keys: Because they are cool? |
Why so many multitools and knives?
Wouldn't a multitool like a gerber/leatherman and your carry knife be more practical? I understand the 2 is 1, 1 is none idea, but you're kind of overdoing it. The rest of the stuff seems reasonable, but its way more than I would carry. |
Tooken? Really? |
In case he has a great dinner pic opportunity, of course. |
dude, you beat me to it..... too much alone time or confused sexual identity....rainbow keys... are all those tools used to remove the stuck gerbil? |
I carry all that and more.......in the console/box/doors of my vehicle.
This is the same guy that sat in the darkness and watched all his food spoil during the last go-around of hurricanes because he doesn't own a generator.
But he's got two really cool pens that will write in space! |
Whatever suits ya. Kinda looks like a CCW trying to impersonate a Harley Davidson motorcycle though.
Well thats handy, |
no body armor?
no lbv? no throat mic? no flashbangs? no ghillie suit in the trunk? tactical? hardly... |
I don't understand the purpose of these "look at me" threads.
Well, he did say he's a contractor......
I am too, and I probably carry that much crap with me, but in a Maxpedition Fat Boy. YMMV |
Take it from someone who owns several pocket knives in the 500 bucks+ range and still has no issue carrying a CRKT M21, they are a great knife. I own 3 of them in fact. One is packed with me every trip out of town. (I travel Monday through Friday) Another lives in my glovebox in my Jeep. The last one lives in my BOB. at 50 bucks....they are a bargain. I'd recommend it to any gear whore! LOL CRKT M21 Combo Edge |
