Looking for a tactical vest that will support AR15 mags and pistol mags. I have looked at several including SOE http://www.militarygear.org/html/vest.html
I do not want to spend $300.00 on one. Any suggestions for a cheaper model.

Blackhawk Industries!  www.blackhawkindustries.com
Great vest which will hold 12 magazines...about $125 retail...see them selling for 85-95 on ebay.
Can get them to hold 12 mags or mags and pistol
holster etc.  I have one.  It is great!!

I have the Blackhawk Urban Tactical. It sells for $280.00 but I'm sure someone knows where to get them for $40.00. Of course these same folks will tell you what complete crap BH gear is.

Does anyone in the US make something similar to this though?

Its the Isreali Army's new LBV-which also happens to be a class IIIA ballistic vest with interior pockets to upgrade to III or IV depending on what plates you put in.  The vest shell is covered front and back with MOLLE-like webbing loops to attach pouches, and like MOLLE it comes pre-packaged in kits for various roles. Rife, Grenadier, LMG, ect.

This back shot:

shows the webbing loops and how the patrol pack and buttpack attach to the vest itself.  There is no picture yet on isayaret.com of the ruck.

They cost about $1000 US each in one configuration with a single class III ceramic plate for the front.

Has anyone heard/seen of these being sold in the US? If so by whom?

For the same money you could buy an Eagle or a Tactical Tailor. My opinion is worth very little but IMHO they are both much better.

Ever check out FMCO I have one of their vests and I like it. I have not used it in the field yet but it seems to be high quality and I like the design and it is priced right.
