What do you think?
Well, I have been in the deep woods in the South growing up, the Rocky Mountains, and Alaska and I can say that I have seen/heard weird shit, and heard stories of shit that I could not deal with if it were true (all my reputable men/women), so I believe it is plausible.
In all seriousness, all of the anthropologists and video experts that have examined it recently can't say that it's not a real creature in the film. The movements and body structure are too real to have been hoaxed at the time, according to them. Who knows, have fun with it. Anyone seen muddydog recently?
I watched a program not long ago that fed how the "creature" walked into a computer, the mechanical data was very revealing. It was totally unlike how a human walks. They had large athlete try to walk the same way and he could not, what ever the "creature it was swift and powerful.
I think muddydog got banned.
I don't believe in bigfoot. But I do know some people who I respect that claim to have seen sasquatch. I have a hard time reconciling my own disbelief with their very realistic accounts. I'll believe it when I see one, and I'll shoot the fucker too if I'm able. |
Its either real or the guys who faked it are way more clever than they looked.
That's pretty much how I feel about the situation. |
Same here, but evidence, and Native American Lore has it that you cannot shoot these things, which puts them into the categories of Ghosts, ETs, and other shit that I cannot kill, nor do I want to fuck with. |
If I run into a stink ape I'll post pictures of his hide.
The extremely numerous accounts of sightings not withstanding; you'd think at least one of the encounters with a party of armed humans would have resulted in a pelt being taken. |
The movement is too "real". I saw the show where they talked about the flexing muscles, cushioning of the knee and flattening of the feet. If you were going to go that far to create a hoax, I think you'd film it a little better.
Shit, I'd shoot that little fucker ET as well. Imagine how much you could sell bigfoot's corpse for. |
True, even on the shitty camera they used, the detail was just too "real." It's pretty damn hard to refute that. |
Oftentimes "scientists" are not the best individuals who are qualified to expose a hoax. A guy like The Amazing Randi tells me something is real I'll believe it. |
I think there must be other "species" out there. But why on earth if they can travel at the speed of light are they peaking into a girl's windows? This tape I don't buy at all. Hell I am scared at what the gov. can see with satellites/thermal and god knows what else. If these are aliens they wouldn't need to even leave there ship to get that view. Imagine the technology they would have to have to travel the galaxy. It just doesn't make sense. It would be like that plane that flew over the uncontacted tribe in Brazil, most people were just laughing.....I think they would be doing the same to us "civilized people".
The same reason we all do it! |
Um....wrong video. That Patterson film is of a supposed "big foot." Not the dumb ass frisbee with eye holes in infrared video. |
But that would be hot....I have, admittedly, tiresome of normal adult adventures. Petal has cured me. |
According to my dad it was his mongoloid cousin in his Halloween Costume. He got out of his cage accidentally when my dad's uncle went to feed him.
I find the whole idea of an ape creature this size remaining unproven for this long a little hard to believe . I also believe that the close ups of the footage show a level of detail next to impossible to fake .Especially given 1960s era technology and the individuals involved with making the film. IMHO If it's a fake ,the guys were duped by somebody else that was insanely good at their craft and years ahead on costume/makeup tech . |
As an avid elk hunter/outdorrsman/ex-military smart-ass, I doubt you will find anyone to hike that far out to dress in a gorilla costume. They were way the hell out of bounds. |
Based on? There is a lot of virgin land out there. |
Something could easily avoid human eyes in the Cascades, that is some wickedly rugged country there. |
A lot of the sightings have taken place not so far from where peole have been for a long time . As I said ,It sounds difficult to believe ,but that film is rather hard to dipsute when it's looked at in detail . I also said IF it was faked I don't believe those guys did it . At least not alone . It's quite possible in places that far out . Afterall a few years ago a new species of deer was discovered in a part of Vietnam where several battles occured during the war .Very close to some villages. I'm really not sure what to believe on this one . There is quite a bit of evidence suppoorting it . Including hair samples from a lot of different locations. I just need more . Oh ,and in before the pic of BF saying "I'm in yo orchard eating yo apples". |
Wasn't there a cabin in Canada or Alaska or something recently that was "attacked" and some hair samples were recovered where after a DNA analysis, they couldn't match it to any known creature?
Missouri I think. |
I think that was earlier in the 20th century.
Google Ape Canyon |
Canada . The guy had a bunch of screws driven through a plank that he believes one stepped on . His vacation house was trashed inside. Hair and tissue samples were stuck to the screws. IIRC ,the tests couldn't prove anything because the samples were somehow corrupted .(Weatering or chemicals or something) It was on Monster Quest on the History Channel. |
Somebody needs to photoshop that BF pic to have an Eotech reticule on it or something .
Fing disturbing . |
My bad...your right, to quick to post. |
Yeah, that was on Monster Quest. |
Have you seen any of the analysis done on the film? |
Yes, and the digital enhancements are quite impressive. However, until credible hair and/or tissue samples are tested, and those tests conclude that a new species of simian or human exists, I am uncommitted.... I just defer to science over emotion in regards to Big Foot |
Not according to an interview with Gimlin that I saw recently. Since I couldn't remember word for word what he said I'll copy this from the Wiki article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patterson-Gimlin_film
This also leads me to believe Patterson truly believed his film was not fake:
As well as this:

I semi agree, but I'm not so quick to call monkey suit on the Patterson film. If it were a suit, it would have been decades before it's time. I think it would be quite a challenge for someone to reproduce the realism of the muscle movements even today, without using CGI or other special effects. |
Your choices were slim on the Poll
But I actually do hope Big Foot exists |
And lets say for the sake of argument that the creature was a person in a suit, but was not part of the expedition and unknown to Patterson and company, could you imagine being miles away from civilization, and stumbling across such a sight in the woods? I don't think I would be able to follow what mental plans I had established for myself due to bewilderment. |
No body/bones= no big foot. And yes I even worked with one of the anthropologists that was on some of the recent big foot shows on a project (R.I.P.).
I was forced to choose between monkey suit and commies, I went with monkey suit. |
I voted legit. Why you might ask.
Well, when that thing looks back at the camera as it is walking in stride, you get somewhat of a profile shot and from what I can see, there are mamary glands (that would be tits to you and me) on that thing. I don't see how you could duplicate that with even the best monkey suits from that era. If that was staged, then that little extra bit of work was a stroke of genius. |
Friggin' Marxist! |
well a bullet through the head, would have proved it, and maybe even started a war..............draw down dam it, draw down
yea, because those guys that said the found a new specie of dinosaur, didn't just find bones they didn't even know about...............and those two specie the found that they thought where extinct............so if they are just finding bones that have been here millions of years and of specie that they were 1,000's of. there is no way the couldn't find bones that may have only been here maybe 100's of years and hell maybe even 100's of them............. |

Depending on who you talk to, many have been shot/shot at. Apparently, they like to recover, and defend their dead. Again, depending on who you talk to. Muddydog could share more with you, but apparently he got banned. |

Somebodys lieing here because they took plaster casts, and the beast hit the ground in the mud,and it left nine toes prints! Cousin my ass! Bob |
