I just read about this HR 1247 from the beginning of 2001. I sure hope this didn't pass or we're all screwed. How do we find out if it passed?

[url]thomas.loc.gov[/url] is always a handy resource for questions like this. It shows that this bill only has one sponsor and has had no action since 4/19/2001, when it was referred to the House Subcommittee on Crime.

For those of us in the PRNY this bill would make little difference. The only way I would even listen to this proposal was if it pre-empted State law and was valid for concealed carry nationwide. The only decent provision of this proposal is it is "shall issue" barring any disqualifying creiteria in the applicant's background.

Thanks for the Speedy Update fellas, i'm sure glad that this thing hasn't gone anywhere in Congress so far. It would be a nightmare if it passed. I think I would take a mortgage to buy every gun i ever dreamed of before this thing took effect to avoid registration with the Feds.

Sometimes they scare me those guys.
