Depends on the purpose..., but most likely I'd go with a Full Auto or Burst Preban so I could get all those "evil" goodies and wind up broke...[;)]

Given that you already have the .308 angle covered with that finest of riflemen's implements, the M1A, I'd say go for the preban AR. No additional family of expensive mags to buy/modify or parts to procure. The sky's the limit on configuring the little beast, too.

Thanks for the advice, I had totally forgot about the magazine problem. If only FAL mags would work in the .308 AR's.

Well, considering that you already have a couple M1A's in .308 and only one AR in .223 I would say go with the preban. However, if I can make a suggestion, and yes I know you didn't ask[;)]. But how about an AK47?? You can easily get a couple of AKs for around $600, $8 mags and very cheap ammo!!! Even get one in 7.62x39 and on in 5.45x39!!
It is my strong belief that every good SUR owner needs at least two AKs!![heavy] Sgtar15 |

Personally I think that the Assault Weapons' Ban will sunset.
I think in your situation you should get a different weapon design than either the AR or the M1A. Perhaps a Valmet or Galil or if you can find them a Sig550 or maybe an HK91 or even an AR10. |
