If you look close at the first photo of the camo M4. If you look at the flash hider you can tell that M4 has been doing a little shooting.

Do they just paint those M4s?

Ok, this is a REAL stupid question. Can anybody tell what kind of ACOG, and other optics they got on those? Forgive me, but I'm using webtv on a crappy tv so I can't get much definition.

Believe it or not, I've actually got a computer, but use this instead. You guessed it, so I can watch tv at the same time. How decadent is that?

Can anyone identify the load bearing equipment and the backpack?

Nice pictures.  Thanks for posting them.

PS  Y'all did catch that at least the 3d picture is USAF not Army, didn't you?  (Check the chevrons)

More than likely the USAF guy is a PJ or combat controller (note the radio hanging out of his ruck,) since it's an Army helo, I wouldn't guess who the other guys are, maybe AF too w/o patches, maybe Army. Who knows, still great pictures.

Note that the guy who has his M4 "painted up" didn't do the dust cover either.

BTW: Why are the handguards "crooked" in pic #1, anyone else notice this ?

Like the Aimpoint on the picture showing the guys in the rear cargo door. Good optic.

This guy is Air Force. Interesting. Maybe a P.J.. What are they doing there? I would expect Army S.F. or Rangers, maybe even S.E.A.L.'s but P.J.'s?

You would think by now that someone would make matching backpacks and holsters in the proper color. They always have great camo except for these standout black straps and green packs. That paint job on the M4 looks pretty good. Probably homemade.

These guys are usually some of the first there if he is a combat controller. They setup air fields and act as ground  forward air controllers.

Hey AcidGambit,

Those handguards aren't crooked. They look like the Knight rail system.

Looks like Sumo beat me to it.

That first pic is awesome. I'd like to try to replicate that paintjob myself. Any ideas on what kind of spray paint to use??

The rifle in the first pic is done in 3-Color Desert Day camo.  Look at www.camotech.com as they do that and several other patterns both domestic and foreign.

Don't know the process they use but I've seen some Marine rifles that were done with some kind of Krylon.

OK GUYS,
This stuff they use is not permenent. It is nothing more than heat resistant SPRAY PAINT!!!!! I am sure that this provides a great opportunity for some companies out there to make some big bucks "re-fininshing the SF way"
I'll try to get the actual name and NSN for it if/when I get a chance.

Don't everybody rush out and "F" up their M4's now just because of these pictures. And definetly don't let someone talk you into sending your rifle to them for some "special coating"

DoorKicker...Learn to read before you open you piehole.

On the front page of the Camotech website it says they offer baked-on finishes and "other high-tech" finishes as well as acrylic enamel.

If you can't read that far why would anyone trust what you spew?

Duh, brain fart on my part.

At first look, it looked as though they were the regular handguards and the vents were at 45deg.
I should have engaged my brain.

Well people tend to believe the truth.

In what way did I contradict what you said?
Chill out and shut your pie hole. I assure you they didn't use camotech! Why would I go to this website?
I just quoted your post because it was the last to mention the finish. Calm down.

Others nailed, it's most likely Bowflage.

Easy to apply, drys quick, and easy to remove so that you can reapply a finish as often as neccesary.

Here's the stuff on my own Bushmaster 20inch A3,

And on my AR10 A4

I mentioned it in another thread, I live in Ca. and I prefer to keep a lower profile if possible when shooting my ARs where others might see me and become overly concerned if they see the silouette of a "black rifle".   This way when I am shooting the rifles match my camo pattern and my surroundings making it so that they can't tell what type of rifle I have if they even can tell that I have one in the first place.
