My company's Austin site was closed down earlier due to a tornado warning.

Tornado hopped right over the top of my place of work.  Came right up I-35.  Couple of guys said they saw the rotation in the clouds but it was raining too hard for me to see anything.

I think we've had some crazy amount of rain >10 inches this evening.

MAN!  Our Austin office was at 101 E. 6th, but we just moved to 601 E. 6th at the corner of Congress!  I hope things are okay there.

I was in the Target at Lamar and BenWhite when the loudpeaker came on, "Uh, theres a tornado coming this way. Should be here in 5 min.". Now that sucked. There was no where to go in that place. Waited it out. Never came. Rained like a mofo though. Nice having a jacked-up 4wd at times like this.

I work in one of the Southpark office buildings at Ben White and I-35.  We spent about 30 minutes in one of the stairwells.  At one point, I peeked out the window and the rain was blowing sideways.  I never did see a tornado, but lots of people said that one touched down quite close.

My wife's boss lost her car (an SUV) in the flooding at Lamar & 10th and had to be pulled out of the window by a firefighter.

I run a pickup route for Fed Ex, from 35th to Spicewood springs, Mopac to 360. It was all I could do to keep on the road. Bull Creek @ 2222 & 360 was closed and all traffic routed to Mesa dr, lotsa stalled cars along 2222.

With all these people we should get a shoot going. See you at the gun show.

Can't you Texas guys do any better than,"...raining like a bastard."?

How about "like a cow pissin' on a rock", or something like that?

Which gun show?  Where?

A shoot sounds like a great idea.  I have a brand new FAL that I have not had a chance to shoot yet.  (But am going to sight it in this weekend at a friend's place in Dripping Springs [:)] )

It rained pretty damn hard up here in Round Rock, and we did have to temporarily move to another area of the building due to fear of a tornado!  My desk is on a row with windows about 50 feet away in either direction!

I'm glad I only live about 10 minutes from work!

Gunshow is this weekend??  DAMN... I'm broke and don't get paid for another week!  For those in the Austin area that don't know about it, it's on 290 just east of 35 in the old Best building (right before the Volvo dealer).  Just look for all the pickup trucks jammed in a parking lot!
