When looking in a mirror, if your face is 2 feet from the glass, are you looking at your reflection as it appears at 2 feet or 4 feet?

I agree two feet. Think about it, you're two feet away, so your reflection "reflects" you at two feet, which your mind could possibly perceive as being double.

The lineal distance light would travel for you to view your reflection would be four feet. Retina to mirror to retina, but your still just two feet away. So I say.... 2 feet.

Doesn't matter.It depends on:
1. How far it is between your ears and your mouth

2. How good your hearing is.

So the answer is how far ot is between your ears and your mouth.

I got trapped in a mirror once. But it turned out ok when I remembered to close my eyes and turn around. Scariest 10 hours of my life.

I've still got one solid brain cell left. I keep trying to kill it with booze, but It's a tough lil' bastard. [:D]

No doubt. I loved it.

Several years ago a friend and I were drinking 9 cent draws at a bar in a different town. After about an hour I get up and leave for the head. I turn down the hallway and see someone walking towards me. I move to the right....and he moves to the LEFT!!

OH GOD!!! I'm gonna' get mugged in a strange bar in a strange town! Then I look closer...that dude is ME. The entire wall was a mirror.

So I get to the door beside the mirrored wall, the handle is on the right next to the wall. OH SHIT!!! Which handle do I grab??? There are two of them about a foot apart...or is it two feet [;)]?

Well, duh, grab the handle nearest you.

I did my business and went back to those 9 cent draws [beer].

edited to add: I HAVE been trapped in a mirror, and it is SCARY!!! [:D]

UUUmmmm.....2!....no wait, 4! I mean 2! 4! Thats my final answer.....no, wait.....

The optical path length is 4 feet, thats how reflecting telescopes work...by folding the image inside of a tube using mirrors....what you see is an image of yourself 2 feet away, because the mirror is flat. If it were curved or if there were lenses involved, then we'd really be confused!

So I go to get some aspirin out of the medicine cabinet....OH NO!...it has a mirror on it. I can't get away from this freaking riddle! Are the aspirins 2 feet away or 4 feet away? [shock] AAACCCCKKKKK!!!!

I open the cabinet and get the aspirins...RIDDLE SOLVED. [thinking]

The answer to the mirror question is 4 feet. To prove this just use a camera and first focus on the mirror frame and check the distance and then focus on the image in the mirror and check and you will see that the distance to the image is twice the distance to the frame. Wedding Photographers commonly photograph a personâ€™s image in a mirror, and I have done this many times, so I know this a fact.
