Hey guys, I just bought a 400ex and I didn't get a manual with it. Do any of you know were the oil drain plug is? Do you loosen the hose leading to the oil cooler/resevoir? or is there a drain? or both? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not familiar with the EX but if that's the same motor as on my XR it also has an oil filter.  On the right side of the case you'll see a round protrusion about 2" in diameter with a smaller (2") cover held on by 2 bolts.  Pop those 2 bolts out and gently move the case and the oil filter will come out.  Get a replacement before starting.

Torque on bolts = 9 ft.lbs.
