The LP rhetoric sounds superficially attractive, but when you really examine it, it falls apart just like communism does.

It's pretty darned hard for me to embrace LP thinking.  Just certain parts make sense, but in totality, it seems to me to be a prescription for domination by the strong and ruthless.  

These would band together to prey on the rest.

They, in my opinion, would then incrementally find reasons for government to rule over the populace in increasing degrees, in order to protect to protect the gains they had made.

My opinion it that if it were ever put in place in some country, the ultimate result would be a very fascist state as the rich and powerful removed the very means to fight them - firearms.

Oh fuck you it is not anti-American at all!  It is very pro-libertarian *and* most of all, they offer unfiltered news and views, something that is very, very critical these days if you haven't noticed.  

Funny how so many so-called American patriots who support the RKBA flinch at protecting the 1st Amendment.  Who the hell are you to judge?  They're a damn good web site, with damn good information.  

And for those of you uncertain about libertarian values, then you must be harboring some deep-seated urge to control and command others around.  America used to be a very libertarian country with strong property values, a capitalist economy, and decent human respect and dignity.  I guess that's all gone now.

Liberty and freedom go hand in hand you know.  And a libertarian nation is a lot more realistic than a socialist one.  The only thing hampering us is years of leftist brainwashing and worship of the state as a religion, something that today's conservatives excel at.

Furthermore, anarchy is not the selfish rejection of society.  The word has been made synonymous with the word "chaos" bringing to mind all kinds of vileness.  Anarchists really just want to see an end to the leviathan state that they have no control over.  It's an attempt to get back to a more basic, representative form of government by the people and for the people.  The only selfish motive is that is expressed is in wanting actual, real, tangible personal and economic freedom in one's own lifetime.  There are also "left" anarchists, the idiots on tv who are not libertarians at all, but exactly the opposite.

We have achieved Orwell's 1984--language is being used to misrepresent everything.  Freedom is slavery, beauty is truth, etc.  You have to look deeper if you ever expect get at what is really going on.  Today, "free trade" means "trade carefully managed by the federal government."  Nothing free about it.  Just like there's nothing free about American life, and no reason left to defend it anymore.
