I'm sorry to see that you made that choice! Even my old '94 FZR 1000 would WAX a 916. I'd hate to see what an R1 would do to that[puke]
It will [spank] it!

Well, I'm not sorry at all!...hehe...I knew this would come up! It all boils down to what you want... Well, if I was going for speed/accel I would have bought a R1. If I was racing I would have bought a R1. If I was wanting a cheaper bike...I would have bought a R1.
...The Duc is a finely crafted machine and is FANTASTIC in the corners...that is why I wanted it. Owning and riding a Duc is about more than just speed!
...one day you'll get it!

Dude, you should of gotten a yellow one!
Nice bike though, it's a match for any Japanese inline 4 (R6, F4, ZX6, GSXR600) and it only took an extra 150 cc's to do it.

Totally agree.  There's more to bikes/cars than just raw speed.  It's the same reason a person would buy a BMW M3 over a Camero (mine in spring =).

I had the same one too in high school, someone stole it and it ended up being painted gold and thrown in a lake.  I'd like to find another mint condition YSR50 just for kicks.

Now I have an imported Honda NC30.

Rigid,

Congrats on your new scoot... I just bought a 748 last month.  Good call on the monoposto, the biposto doesnt look right and the white tail is kick a$$.

Let me give you a tip, you've got to change out the break-in oil at 600 miles.  Check your oil every 100 miles!  When I took my in for the 1st service, I only had about 2 quarts left, I'm lucky I didnt blow my motor!  Your duck will eat some oil the 1st 2000 miles... you may need to add some more oil at 200-300miles.

I'll be getting my CF Termi's by the end of the year.  Are you a member of esportbike.com?

Ride Safe,
M.

well  a duc is not my choice.but if you like it get it.as far as the 916 vs the 748 i think it comes down to who can hold the trhottle the longest.I had a 98 gix 600 and now have a 01 gix 750 and in the tight  canyons there both equal.except for the long sweepers. just watch out for the cages.hey gixxer ever go to  www.gixxer.com   i go there every night black silver01750
