Hello ALL
After so many negative attitude postings from some of you crabby members, I've decided I MIGHT actually go ahead with a torture test on my next completed AR15 kit rifle.
I just want to prove once and for all that Olympic Arms rifles are JUST as RELIABLE/GOOD if not BETTER than Bushmaster, etc... Of course I have no basis for comparison, can someone send me their bushy to beat on? [:D] Sorry that kind of sounds funny... Bushy to beat on?
Well, I thought of these test criteria:
1.) Rain test - Open ejection port, and place the rifle with a loaded mag into a dirty deep puddle of rain water (while raining). Pick it up & drain barrel/chamber, then fire it in the rain...
2.) Snow test - Wait until the temperature here in Minnesota drops down near or below ZERO degrees F. Throw it into a snow bank without muzzle cap & with ejection port open overnight (1 night). Remove the next day, function test & fire.
3.) Sand Test - I know the israelis have this one down to an art, but I was thinking of tossing some sand on it, and shaking it around a bit. Then function test, check bore, and fire.
If you guys wanted to see a torture test done to a rifle, what would you like to see done in that test?
What safety precautions should I take if I were to undertake such a crazy endeavor?
Please make some suggestions, as I am wondering what other torture tests have been done in the past... I think I've heard of Armalite doing a torture test on their rifles, but I never looked into it. Does anyone know of where I can find more info on torture testing AR15's?
