While we are posting interesting trivia, I got one:
On the Space Shuttle's ascent after launch, the main engines must be throttled back to avoid exceeding Max-Q, which is the speed at which the aerodynamic forces will start to exceed the structural integrity of the vessel. In other words, the Space Shuttle is so powerful it can literally rip itself apart. [shock] |

that Neptune has wind storms that gust up to 1040 mph? That's really not too bad. I think average wind in Oklahoma comes in around 950 this time of year.[:)] |

Here is another which I am sure is known by more than one member of this board: The Browning designed M1911 is the only first generation autopistol, contemporary with the Luger and the Broomhandle Mauser, that is still a viable combat pistol.[pistol]
