Today, I sold a gun.

A mint Gibbs carbine conversion of a 1967 RFI 7.62 Enfield, all matching numbers. I sold to my FFL buddy at exactly what I had in it, as he does the same for me.

Why? The last 3 weeks I have been juggling regular work and putting in time on orders at my reserve unit preparing everything in case the call comes. Of course, the $$$$ from that will offset the money I miss from my regular job, but due to the fact that there was no funding for the orders when they were cut and the new fiscal year started today, my pay for that will most likely not hit untill the 15th or later.

I have enough to cover the normal expenses, but my girlfriend suprised me with a great gift last week, and it has been killing me that I haven't gotten anything for her. So away it went. And ya know what, I love her so much I don't regret it one bit!
