AOL anti freedom is at it again.
They now have a 2 question poll.

#1 Do you support tighter Terrorism laws in the U.S. even if it limits your freedoms?
Answers are Yes No or Not Sure.

#2 Which of these security measures would you most support.
Answers are
National ID Cards
Car Serches
E-mail/Phone Searches
Video Camera Checkpoints

Notice that there is no space for NOTHING, or TIGHTER BORDERS!?

At this moment YES to quesytion #1 is at 72%, percent then not sure at 15% and NO at a very low 12%.

The second question outcome goes as follows:
National ID Cards 56%
Car Serches 26%
E-mail/Phone Searches 10%
Video Camera Checkpoints 6%
Total votes so far 170698

What is next Visas and border checkpoints at every state border???

WTF directly is a "terrorism law"? "we hereby declare terrorism illegal" that's the stupidest thing I've heard of since I heard that congress called a special session to "condemn" this act.

AOL people are stupid and a good percentage OF the 56% who support the national id card only put that because they think it'll be shiny and they can stare at it for about 5 minutes.

is the poll web-based or is it internal to that 40mb trojan-horse they make you keep on your pc?

and actually the numbers for searches and e-surveillance look suprisingly a whole lot better than I'd expect from sheeple even before this whole thing happened.

Looks like AOL might be taking over my cable internet from AT&T.  Excite@home is rapidly turning into a penny stock so AOL is going to buy them out.  I know they are going to find a way to give my cable a busy signal.  Fudge.

And I was chastised for stating that the sheeple "patriots" are only waiving flags out of fear. On 9/10/01 they didn't have a clue as to what the Constitution and Bill of Rights are and after 9/11/01, no matter how many stars and stripes they have flying, they still don't.

Just wait until the socialist "celebrities" start chanting safety in exchange for freedom is good.

AOL isn't an Internet Service Provider, they are a dedicated intranet with a side-door proxy connection out to the Internet....but I won't get started on AOL as a whole.  Bottom line, if you're happy with it...great.  Though you may save a little money with better options elsewhere...at least after you get out from under your rebate/AOL contract agreement.

About 8-9 years ago, there was a very small dedicated group of 2nd Amendment folks on AOL.  After much pleading, AOL granted us our own "spot" where we could discuss such things.  It also required quite an effort on our part as AOL moved the area around from time to time, so we'd email each other to find it again.  But there was no shortcut to this spot, it was out of the way and if you didn't know exactly where it was, chances are, you wouldn't find it.

On top of that, unlike other areas with other topics, the "gun group" area was regularly monitored. If you mentioned anything about a price of a firearm, your message was likely deleted as AOL had a strict "no gun sales" policy. (we later found that the ACLU area had "no rules" where people could cuss and such...so we would go over there and talk about selling guns much to AOL's dismay the moderator later told us).

There were many patriots there, Old Town Station (who I believe is Jim Supica who recently ran for a board chair of the NRA and didn't get it..if he runs again, he's a good guy), Plus P...strong willed, but full of common sense, and many others. They've moved on, but AOL retains their anti-gun stance.

I'm surprised they also didn't mention national fingerprint registration — another "brilliant" idea that's making the rounds among the media outlets. Can a DNA registry or bar-code tatoos be far behind?
