Fox news reporting a shooting in what the FBI reports is the safest community in the US to live in. Multiple victims. They are not sure if the shooter is still at large. Hope he/she doesn't run into a house to hide. It's pretty dry out there...

Homeowner shoots and kills intruder

(Glendale-AP) -- A Glendale homeowner shot and killed a man he said had broken into his house.

Glendale police spokesman Matt Brown says the homeowner was in the back of his house when he heard a noise in the front about 11:15 last night.

The homeowner said he went to investigate and found a man later identified as 35-year-old Gary Chavez of Phoenix in his living room who was trying to steal his VCR.

Brown says the homeowner told police that he yelled at Chavez and then Chavez charged at him. That's when the homeowner said he shot Chavez, who then staggered outside and died.

Brown says police will forward their report on what happened to the county attorney's office, whose job it will be to determine if the shooting was justified.

The Simi Valley shooting will turn out to be a domestic dispute or one of the Calderon "children" brought it on through their own criminal involvement.

conveniently, yes, but the people who need to recognize it don't/won't/can't.  [:(]

"to determine if the shooting was justified."  does that mean they need to verify that Chavez was indeed an intruder and not some buddy stealing a beer and good ol' homeowner is making up the story to cover his bum?  otherwise, i see no reason to doubt the justification.
