I went out to Backwoods with a few buddies of mine and shot a couple of rounds of trap after not pulling the trigger on my Citori in over two years. Both rounds were in the twenties, so I guess she's not mad at me for ignoring her for so long.

Shot a bunch of bolt action stuff, .308 and .300 win mag. A lotta fun, but you don't want to be sitting at the bench next to the .300 WM looking through a spotting scope when that puppy goes off! Zoinks!

It was a good day.

Only 68 rounds, but all under the direction of the US Army Marksmanship Unit.  I'll take professional training over plinking every time!

Saturday:  Shot the IDPA classifier with my 2.5" barreled *&* Model 19 using .38 cal 158grain SWC and a FIST open top kydex canted OWB.  Screwed the pooch on stage 1 (missed a couple of head shots), but did prettty good on 2 and 3.  Made Sharpshooter in Stock Service Revolver.

Sunday:  My club had it's final AR15 league match of the year.  This usually consists of 6 steel turkey silohuettes and a running deer target with a paper plate on it at sixty yards or so.  The deer runs back and forth twice and when you're not shooting at the deer you have to knock down the steel.  Scored buy total hits on steel and paper plate - unfortunately the deer wasn't in mechanical condition to work, so we just shot the steel for time.  The Ashley express ghost ring is not the best way to go at that distance I found out - so I flipped it over to the tighter aperature and things went  better.  I took second with a score in the area of 8.5 seconds.

Monday:  No shooting - just sat around and read Black Hawk Down and wished that the author would've done a little more research on the small arms aspect of his otherwise excellent story.

I've had worse weekends!

I took the 'ladies' to the range yesterday:

My fianceee and her ladysmith .357. She's gettin better everytime we go, now if I can just get her to CLEAN the damn thing.

Her friend from work came too, a nice little 22 year-old who went shootin' for the first time last week. She's HOOKED.

We should ALL try to get new blood to go shooting, its  the only way we will survive.

Bulldog OUT

Oh yeah, I shot 200 rnds of 45

Light duty for me this weekend. Sighted in a red dot on a 10/22. Windage was dead on I just had to jack the elevation a few inches. Only took 4 shots so I just had to hang around and play a little.
