They cost the military maybe $500 each, plus or minus, bought in large quantities. If you or I want one we have to buy a registered transferrable that was registered before May 1986, and prices range from $9-10,000 for a converted clone to a high end of $18-20,000 for a new in box M16A2. |

What other machine guns could I get with out costing more then 1000? Hows about a Uzi or a Mac. I must be able to take down the commies when they come to take my rights away.

Are you not aware that the only M16's that can be owned by regular private citizens are the limited number that are listed in the NFA registry (as well as the limited number of DIAS and lightning links)? Because there is a relatively small number of them - the prices are VERY high, because no new "transferable" ones can be added to the registry. About 10K for a registered M16 reciever sounds about right. You can "create" new SBR (short barreled rifles) as a private citizen, but NOT full-auto rifles. You either have to buy an existing one in the NFA registry, or be a manufacturer (or a dealer who is buying a demonstration sample for LEO or other similar use). . |

 Ask one of the supply type pouges to look up the current cost of an M16, M16A1, M16A2, M4 etc etc in Haystack or FEDLOG. Last time I looked back in the early 00's an M16 was listed as costing about $185 and an M4 was going for around $450. |
