Bushmaster gunsmiths did a great job on my AR15. It took only two weeks to get it back. They opened up the mag well which was originally so tight that it was hard to insert or remove any one of my mags. The weapon had a Zero of 23 click left with A1 sights. Too much for my liking. They also addressed the feeding problems that were all too frequent. While it was in the shop, I requested that they change the A1 upper to an A2 upper. I already have an A1 upper on my 9mm Colt, and this upper was badly butchered on the very top of the receiver and under the carry handle. It looked really bad, but had it functioned properly I would have left it alone. They were going to reuse my barrel, but instead they just pinned on a brand new A2 upper complete with barrel. They also test fired her before shipping her back. The A2 upper was done for $30, wich is the difference in cost between the A1 and A2 uppers. The weapon came back in a new hard case, with a new factory ten rounder. I sent it to them in a cardboard box, with no case. That was very cool of them considering that I told them on the phone how I trashed the factory frankenmag after a bad day at the range that resulted in more FTF's than shots fired! Thus far I am very pleased with Bushmasters customer service. Now I have to get back to the range in PA and see how well she functions and get her Zeroed.

Was this a new rifle? Did you happen to ask them how their QC dept. managed to let something like that get by them in the first place?

Waldo, unfortunately this was new weapon. The problem with bad sight indexes that result in the rear sight aperature ending up all the way to one side after Zeroing was a known issue to BM. It was posted in the BM industry forums a little while back after some members were experiencing similar problems with thier weapons Zero. Someone posted that it was even on the BM web site, but I have not looked myself. It was explained to me over the phone that some of the rifles left Bushmaster with overtorqued barrels. Mine had a few more problems than that, but after everything, I have to give credit to BM's customer support. They were very easy to deal with and prompt with thier warranty service. I have already called to thank them over the phone the day after it arrived. Sorry that it took me so long to reply, but my computer caught a bad virus that could not fixed. I lost everything on my hard drive, and had to reinstall ALL of my software again.
