Poll to follow....

I like North Carolina. Moderate climate. Ocean on one side, mountains on the other. Overall, a reasonable cost of living. If it wasn't for all the southerners, I'd consider living there.

Of those choices, TX.  The state I liked more than my home state was New Mexico, northern New Mexisco.

Just what North Carolina needs....another ill-mannered Yankee coming for an extended visit.

Where's the Klan when we really need them?

If Texas had a border between it and Mex it would win. It doesn't, so Idaho.

Southerners are why NC is a good place.

I grew up in Philadelphia, too many Yankees are just downright rude compared to folks down here. I could never see myself living up north again.

Ohio is cool, but don't tell anybody. It's a secret.

You left out Wyoming. It's arguably the most free state in the union (guns or otherwise).

I voted Montana due to its endless beauty, relatively remote, gun friendly, but its only a 9 month state.

I would say California if it weren't for the liberal politics/laws, and immigration nightmare - because of its natural diversity and beauty

My home state of Fla is a great one but there are times when I just cannot stand the over-population, and commercialization of the place

its becoming a continuous strip mall

1  Montana
2  Florida
3  Texas

That's okay, we have more than enough yankees down here already. Please stay up north, and tell all your friends to do the same!

Colorado.  Lots of free places to shoot (BLM land), CCW, pretty.  I am not talking about Denver, that sucks.  Western CO.

I voted for Montana, I've been there twice and would love to go back, my next choice would be Wyoming.

... It used to be Arizona, but she has literally been overrun by refugees of other States and illegal aliens.

... Yesterday, my g/f and I took a drive to the north side of the beautiful Catalina mountains (northeast of Tucson). She had never been to that remote area before - in fact, it had been 15 years for me.

... Well I was awestruck. The friggin place had been built up into a huge city/community. We also noticed how far south the Phoenix metropolis has sprawled south. It's just horrible!

... Hopefully, I can slowly begin my migration to the mountainous "Mogollon Rim" area of the State. But by time I retire, I'm afraid it too will become congested.

It'd be no contest if Texas could just get back the territory that it foolishly ceded to the United States:
