What's the best way to mount a harris bipod on an AR upper? I have the standard A2 upper with plastic handguards 24" barrel etc. and need a good stable mount. (I would prefer not to mount the bipod to the barrel.)

Thanks,

Mike

Use the Harris #5 adapter. It is usually $10 and mounts through a hole in the handguard.  It may bend the heat shield a bit.  If that bothers you, as it did me, I cut three strips of some malleable yet durable plastic about 1/6" thick and put them under the heat shield.  The bipod is steady as a rock and the heat shield is not bent.
