I've been thinking about getting my C&R. Is it really worth it living in the PRK? What can and can't I purchase? Also, what's the policy on demilitarized weapons that come with the high capacity magazine?

You can still get a C&R in CA. Know a few people that have em. All of the C&R firearms are not on the RR89 or SB23 list. So you do not have restrictions. I don't really know of any C&R rifles that require hi capacity magizines, at least not in its orignal form, so you should be ok there as well.

If I am not mistaken the firearm must be fifty years or older to qualify for C&R. So you're pretty looking at Mausers, SKS, Mosins, etc. And you must use lics. for collecting purposes and not for business.

There are a bunch of additional restrictions in the PRK. You can't buy pistols; you must still buy them via a Type 1 FFL. The gun must be 50 years old; a C&R gun that's, say, only 35 years old must be transferred via Type 1 FFL. No hi-cap mags. No "assault weapons", so SB23 and RR89 apply. And you must also get another permit/license for something or other.

I seriously considered getting one, but you're pretty much limited to buying old military bolt rifles, and for me, it wasn't worth all of the paperwork to save a bit of money on the few rifles I'd have wanted to buy.
