I have a lap top that crashes (blue screen of death) when coming out of hibernation.

OK, Start HERE and check to see if this will help. Also getting the error would be good, a picture would be great. Steve |

I can never see what the screen says because it flashes the BSoD and then restarts.
How would I update my bios? |

I went to the Compaq hardware/software update and there was no bios update.

what model number ?
ETA I found THIS at the Compaq/HP site. This should get you going if it is a newer laptop. If it is older might have to dig a bit as compaw was bought out by HP awhile back Steve |
