Are You Ready for Some Football???
Here it is, the NFL season is upon us... Yeah, I know it's only pre-season, but I'm getting the rush already! And mark my words, this year's Superbowl Champion will be... . . . . . The MIAMI DOLPHINS!!!!!!! I just wanted to make my prediction in public. Jay Fiedler will lead the Dolphins offense with Lamar Smith having an even bigger year than the last. Fiedler will mature into a top-notch qurterback with the addition of some talented and speedy receivers! And the best Defense in the League will continue to dominate!!! Best linebacker in the game, Zach Thomas- Best corner in the game, Sam Madison- and the Best young defensive end in the game, Jason Taylor- will lead the Dolphins Defense to the "Promise Land". The rest of the league better buckle up, it's gonna be a bumpy ride... |

RAIDERS BABY!!!!!!!!
Oh wait, I forgot. They tear out my heart EVERY YEAR. Oh well, at least it is better than having to watch basketball. Yuck. |

Well, as a long-time Buccaneers fan (like since the year they started "playing" in the NFL), all I can do is hope yet again.....
Go Bucs! [8D] WWoodworth |

Buccaneers have to be an early pick with Brad Johnson on board. I have tried to support them in the past but couldn't get past the stupid mascot and those ugly colors until they fixed that stuff four or five years ago.
The Vikes aren't going anywhere. Their whole team is falling apart. I dunno who from the AFC will be there, but I sure hope it isn't the Broncos! |

[green]The New York Jets[/green]
They should have a pretty strong season with the adoption of the West Coast style offense, new head coach, and a bunch of quick wideouts. The running game remains solid with Curtis Martin running the ball. The defense should continue where it left off last year. My prediction is that the Jets are at least a playoff team... |

I can't figure out why everybody believes that Brad Johnson will deliver for them. Shit, ask the Redskins how much he helped them. Besides, the rumor is that his arm is dead for the long ball. He just doesn't have the oomph to throw it past 30 - 35 yards with any accuracy. Plus he's as fragile as an infant. The 'Skins Offensive line was threatened with termination if Brad got hurt so he was extra protected. The Bucks don't have that strong of an Offensive line. My prediction is that Brad breaks/tears/ruptures something by week 3. VIKINGS BABY [>]:)] |

AFC
East - Dolphins Central - Ravens West - Broncos Wildcards - Raiders, Indy, Seattle NFC East - Eagles Central - Vikes West - Rams Wildcard - Bucs, Skins, Saints AFC Champion - Dolphins NFC Champion - Rams SuperBowl Champions - Dolphins This of course means these teams need to stay healthy. The Dolphins defense last year wss as amazing as the Ravens, and their offense is much improved over last year. If the QB position solidifies, forget it, these guys WILL be the team of the decade. My personal thoughts go to the Cowboys who will win 8-10 games this year in a surprise and just miss the playoffs out of a pathetic NFC East. Next year they will have a first rounder to pick up Smith's replacement trainee (if wiley and hambrick don't claim it this year!) or to grab another monster defensive player (DB PLEASE!) They will then use the SHITLOADS of cap space to fill their needs on defense with young talent to dominate once more!!! Boyz in 2002!!! ]=) -- GB |

I can't believe some Vikings guy is accusing *me* of smoking crack! Brad Johnson to Keyshawn, hey give it a chance. If Brad's healthy (yeah I know, *if*) he's pretty damn good.
Hey, I have always liked the Vikes all the way back to the Chiefs Super Bowl, and through the Dolphins, Steelers and Raiders Super Bowls too, and I was happy when the Bills were able to finally match, if not exceed, the record of four Super Bowl appearances with no wins. But their team is gutted this year. No Robert Smith. No Todd Steusie. No John Randall. No Matthew Hatchette. No Korey Stringer (bless him). No D to speak of, and Randy Moss and Chris Carter can't do it by themselves on offense. Vikings in 2001? You put down *your* crack pipe, dude! |

My prediction as well.....
The Browns will get their ass kicked by everyone in the NFL, again. |

Didn't Baltimore win the Superbowl ENTIRELY on the backs of their ferrocious defense? I think Ray Lewis is probably one of the best linebackers ever to play the game. BTW, I'm a Boyz fan first and foremost, but they aren't looking too good right now IMO. I'll still root for Dallas, but I'm going to every Ravens home game this year so I can like them too so there. |

I saw this thread, and it was enough to bring me out of lurker status and register.
While I won't come out and say that I believe the Packers will win the Superbowl, I will say that they are a great team, and I am a huge fan. Best Quarterback in the league. Superior depth at O Line. Potential stars at Wide Reciever and a two back tandem in Levens and Green that could rival that of Levens and Bennett. And Gilbert Brown is back!!!! Most importantly, a TEAM attitude, chemistry, and great coaching. We have a lot of veteran talent taking huge pay cuts to stay at Green Bay. Green Bay makes up for any shortcomings in talent with it's huge heart. That said, I really wish we had a proven tight end, a star reciever other than Freeman (although he looked really good in the Family Night scrimmage), and an unstoppable power end on the D Line ala Reggie White in his prime. That is where we are weak. If we manage to address these issues with Franks or a new signee, and Jamal Reynolds pans out the way everyone hopes, LOOK OUT! Unfortunately, so far Reynolds is getting his ass whipped in one on one by Chad Clifton, 2nd year pro OT who is really good. I admire you Vikes fans for your Packer Fan-like dedication, but your team is decimated, especially on defense and ESPECIALLY in the backfield. And football fans everywhere are mourning the loss of Stringer, he was an outstanding player and a worthy rival, as evidenced by the visit from Santana Dotson and LeRoy Butler. GO YOU PACKERS, GO!!!! |
