Went up to the Lake Superior Hiking Trail and did some snowshoeing today.  I would have liked to go longer but the dog couldn't handle the deep snow.  It felt great for only being around 10-20*.

I don't know how to do that.  I have 3 or 4 pics like that.  Tell me how and I'll try and figure it out.

I didn't resize it.  That's how it is straight from the camera.

ouch...ok then nevermind.

Looks good though.  I have learned to take pics with mine on the highest setting then resize for whatever I need it for. Just for situations like this.

Does it make them look better?  I put it as my desktop background and was kind of dissapointed...didn't look as good as it does when it's smaller. ?

Mine look awesome large and they only take at 2mp. But of course will "look" better smaller. But that last pic would have been AWESOME at say 1280*1024.

I think where you are hosting the pictures resizes it smaller so it doesn't take up a lot of space.

Is the original pic on your PC? As in copied right from camera to your desktop? What size is it? (right click> properties)

Can't I just resize it bigger then?

Going bigger makes them look bad.

If it keeps doing this here, I might need you to send me those snow shoes.  So far this month we have gotten over 45" of snow here at Kunsan.

nice. Not enough snow up here for me to dig out the snow shoes yet.

How do you like those snowshoes? I have a pair of MSR's that are great except in really fine, dry powder. Those add-on tails make them nose dive into the snow, so you're kind of walking in "high heels". Gives me a lot more respect for the stamina of women

I love getting out into the woods in the winter.   I'm out on xc skiis in the woods near me as soon as there's  enough snow for the season.

These are Sherpa brand.  I think I paid $60-80 for them about 5 years ago.  I like them a lot!  My only complaint is that when going down hills, if you lean back you will actually start skiing down them.  I've fell over a couple times doing this.  I've thought about getting a new pair.. but these are still working great so I'll stick with em'.  My ex GF had a pair of Tubbs and I never heard a complaint (for once) about them.

is that snow as heavy as it looks, or is it stuck on a window?

"Man, I wish I lived in Wisconsin..."  Isn't that what that recent "Green BayWatch" spoof commercial used to say?  Regardless, I miss the snow and cold.  HI is nice, but I'm a true 4-season guy at heart.  Great pics, looks like a good day...

Pics were taken in MN.    I don't think I could handle constant one-season weather.  It's nice to have hobbies that you can only do for a few months, then you can look forward to something all the time.

Awesome picture!

As far as getting the dog snow shoes..uh, I think I'll just take her to more groomed, well traveled areas next time.
