OK, the first few I took out my front door during the storm.

NOTE: Photos lack sound and the visual effect of the wind making the walls of your home breath. Also was ducked and covered when the serious shit was flying.

Now it's getting hairy.

Wind broke the anchor on my front porch post. Almost lost the whole damn thing.

Couple hours after the storm, everyone got their trees pruned for free.

These are from a few days AFTER the storm.

Residents began blocking street access to control looters...

Downed utility poles were everywhere.

Got some dings and scratches but is structurally OK which is more than a LOT of my immediate neighbors can say.

In case anyone wonders we had 122mph sustained and gusts up to 144mph.

Might as well chop trees down BEFORE the hurricane hits, to save on property damage..

It's always a shame to see the older trees brought down.

Wow! Thanks for the pics SteyrAUG.

I can't imagine staying in place for something like this. I would definatly be one of the first out of town when the word came down. Tornados and blizzards....pfft....

Glad you posted that. I was sitting there  listening to the weather radio and the guy was saying sustained were 90mph abut everytime I looked out the window I was like "I dont think do" Maybe the first half was only 90mph sustained but after the eye passed, your figures seem more correct. I have pics during the eye and it didnt look too bad out. I have pics after the south side of the storm passed over and it was a different world.

hurricanes are damn amazing to experience.  when Dennis came through pensacola, i was able to stand on my neigbors porch and watch it.  (the house blocked the wind)  i heard they estimated the winds around 120, and i believe it.  watching all of the pine trees bend completely over and eventually snapping off is intense.  very lous as well.

wondering where abouts you are...

all that damage looks typical of what I saw down there in Browerd county. (Spent most of my time in Hollywood and places out and about on the everglades and the 'alley')

things I observed the most:  Gas Lines, Power Outages and downed trees.

I'll add with my pics when I get home to CO... we  left yesterday and am now in a hotel in KC, MO.
