I did some graphics work for Hennessey a few years back. I asked him, " If I am at a stop light in one of your Venoms, and a cop is next to me, will I be able to move when the light changes without spinning the tires?"
He just laughed and said that it would be best to already have my license and insurance ready.  They also used to do a Durango conversion with the V-10 engines. $105,000 + a new Durango = an SUV with a 5.9 second 0-60 time. |

You sound like a guy who knows the Viper world, Hahaha. (I drive a Viper) Folks, Hennessy can do some serious stuff, (Yoda Voice)....But there is another. While Hennessy gets a lot of the attention because he does know how to market and builds a nice product, Heffner performance builds Vipers that lay the wood to everything. They have Independant Rear Vipers that run in the high 8's low nines with the AC blowing cold. http://www.heffnersperformance.com/ A Heffner car holds the unlimited Viper Record (V-10 motor, street legal full interior) 8.26 @ 176.26 Also for a full street trim viper Heffner holds the record (V-10 motor, Street Legal, full interior, Independent rear, and the 6 speed tranny, AC) @8.75 at 168.00 Vipers running 9's are a dime a dozen with several tunners doing it with bolt on kits. A 1000hp Viper that is set up right can be used as a daily driver. |

People would drop off their cars and large sums of money for some high end work on their cars. Months would pass with no car back or anything. Customers would get pissed and drop by the shop unannounced and find their car sitting there with parts missing (hood, wheels, etc) while hennessey was cranking out cars for racing and building some mansion in colorado or some shit. At one point there was a ton of pending lawsuits against him. |

Remember, Vipers have a V-10 in them. For the most part they are not the best sounding car, while some sound better than others, they just dont have the sound of a V-8. It is an odd sound, more like two 5 bangers running out of sync. I get lots of compliments on my Viper but most people who have heard me get on it are a little suprised with the exhaust note. (Not in a positive way) |

Yeah, but I was talking about the honk of the aftermarket Blow Off Valves..you usually hear that in smaller turbo cars..My 300ZX Twin Turbo has them...I agree about the way a Viper sounds..The engine sounds fairly tame when you imagine how much horsepower its putting out. |
